Think the race is tailor made for him. Wouldnt read to much into those comments.

Ryanair ?  He's done most of his hurdling over 2m 4f/5f albeit he looks a 3m chaser in the making.

Only other option is one of the handicaps but if he wins 3-4 novice chase races unless you have a high end handicapper in he'd be carrying fair bit of weight in one of them.

Fast run Arkle wouldnt suit as dont think he'd possibly be quick enough ?

Maybe even the 2m 4f Nov Chase if its introduced thinking about it.

Nick Williams said at the end of last season he may stay over hurdles for the world hurdle which I doubt as they avoided Big Buck's last year with Diamond Harry. I think he will run in the Arkle as the trainer doesn't like the RSA and horses who stay further do well in the Arkle e.g My Way De Solzen, Tidal Bay and Forpadydeplasterer.

Would like to see them start him off in the Haydock 3m fixed brush handicap hurdle in the middle of November. The stable won the same race last year with Diamond Harry, who won doing handsprings off a mark of 149.

Reve de Sivola is currently rated 148 and that race would provide a suitable early season opportunity as he looks like he will enjoy the extra distance.

PFtrader. I think the stable realised that whilst it was great for D H to win that then run against Big Bucks in the long run he went to Cheltenham with to little experiance over fences, I doubt very much they will make that mistake again and this one will poss have 5 fences runs before Chelts

I have been told as well by one of the people connected with the horse that Reve De Sivola would go RSA then Cheltenham Gold Cup. Admittedly this was around this stage last season so plans may have changed.

Why wouldn't they take this race before going over fences ?

Still early enough in the season to allow the horse plenty of experience over the larger obstacles afterwards

Usually the race is run in pretty soft/heavy ground over 3m 1f...in late November.  Not ideal as you then need to give the horse 3-4 weeks to recover before going chasing.

Ideally as Abbott says you want at least 3-4 Nov Chases into the horse at least before Chelt to school the horses jumping properly...they sent Diamond Harry to inexperienced over the bigger obstacles to Chelt.

Getting couple of 3k Nov chases...then couple of better chases into Reve would be better than rushing the horse from late December for chasing.

Diamond Harry ran in the Long Walk hurdle at Newbury at the end of December before running twice more over fences, before running in the RSA.

I don't see any problem running RDS in the 3m handicap before taking in another 3 races over fences afterwards, all things being equal, if that is the route they want to go down. In fact nothing to stop them running him in a novice chase before Haydock if he comes to hand in time and they can find a suitable race for the horse. It wouldn't affect his hurdle mark either.

Time will tell I guess

Im sure theyll start off in the fixed brush at haydock and go proper chasing after that. nick williams has said in the past that RDS is able for more races than diamond harry
