haha i did see that thread and nearly posted a similar comment. Would definitely suit, but was running over 2m last year so a drop back would be fine a la Sizing.

Fine over 2 miles I reckon, a bonus that he stays further when considering the Arkle. 16/1 not great although probably about right

Runs in 5 minutes, should be easy enough, Sizing won this last year so good to see him following the same path

Rsa winner in my book backed him for 5 pound on him at 140.00

trainers said there gonna step him up in trip a few weeks ago.

great at his fences more impressed with todays effort than the last one, idled a bit.

think he will stay really well but not quick enough for the arkle for me.

RSA shortlist for sure.

Where did u get him stepping up in trip from, as far as I knew he was going to follow Sizing's route? Looks to have plenty of pace for 2 miles to me, wouldn't surprise me to see him make the frame in the Arkle just by virtue of his jumping. Think his style makes him one to follow over the season as he won't impress massively but he'll get the job done and find one or two inexperienced ones out. Maybe then step him back up the following year starting with a tilt at the Paddy Power. That's how I'd play it anyway.

I am more inclined to think he will end up in the new 2 mile 4 chase, although connections will probably want to follow the SE route.  Superb jumping again today.

2m4f Novice Chase written all over him.

trainer said : He won his beginners chase over two and a half so he probably will get a bit further, but he jumps so well that we'll stick to shorter trip for the time being.

i just think there go further with him as they know he hasnt got the speed for arkle but with the 2m 4f race there now he could obviously go for that to but out of the arkle and the RSA i personal think he will go for the RSA due to the history of it.

What the race won by out and out proven stayers? Can't see it, he says he thinks he'll get a 'bit further'.
