My book arrived yesterday, earlier than expected to

Mine too. Had a quick flick but need to go through it properly. Interested in any surprise omissions from the competition like Poquelin last year. Sang Bleu one that jumps out to me as an omission. Also Loosen my Load omitted. Anyone spot any others?

Loosen My Load is a shocking omission

Loosen My Load needs to find 2-stone (at least) if its to win an Arkle and cannot be considered in the same class as stablemate Sizing Europe.
If you want to win the 10-2-Follow then you have to stick to chasers, and staying chasers at that; that's were the points are.
Don't bother with hurdlers unless you can find a staying hurdler (ie Big Bucks) that will win a handful of top races.
The time to add the novice chasers is at the Bonus Horses stage and you know the result of the PJ Moriarty chase.

Losen My Load wont go for the Arkle. Looks more of a 3miler to me.

There are alot of handicappers in the list that look to have very high marks & are unlikley to improve imo. So on that basis Loosen My Load should be in the list.

Im not sure about The RSA but he could be one for the new 2 1/2 mile novice chase.

Thought the nosdive in prize money / participants was to do with them differentiating on the substitution rules between hard-copy entries and those who entered via the web?

No Hennessy horse Brooksielad, unless you're assuming Kauto Star goes for it?

the hennessy is a problem for me ....i wanted what a friend to run which ain't happening....don't fancy denman.....don't think kauto will run....so i'm scratching my head...don't want weird al....and don't want to stick something in just for the sake of picking it as i know it's a runner....want to actually fancy it!!

joci....speaking about kempes the other day...i was hoping a few weeks back that mullins would give him a shot ...but that ain't happening either.

Might just be him being cautious, as the Hennessy can be a very gruelling early season race, and take a lot out of relatively inexperienced horses. Maybe he's happier to 'pot hunt' in Ireland, build up a bit more experience, and aim higher later in the season. Not a bad idea in my book.

if pandorama puts in a decent enough performance on saturday i think he'll end up being my hennessy horse...meade seems quite bullish in his reports.

I'v decided to miss the hennessy and gear my team around picking points up through the big 3 festivals, it would be nice to pick the hennessy winner but If Kauto does go for the race a lot of horses will run out of the handicap and it would be a nightmare to sacrfice one selection for a race that at the moment isnt making a lot of sense. Pandorama is interesting though and i was close to putting him in.

Added Peddlers Cross and Master Minded. Have IC, Long Run and Diamond Ha for the GC, Big Bucks, Big Zeb, Cue Card, Capt Chris, Wymott, Mad Max and Tataniano. The last 2 are my big losers and unlikely to score at the Festival. My position is also about 25000, so have to win the Cheltenham prize to get anything. Only did one line though so not too bad.
