This horse has a fantastic physique, and looks every bit a chaser in the making imo. He's won at 3 miles around Aintree, beating Inchidaly Rock in a listed handicap, and has excellent course form at Cheltenham with form figues 122, again all over 3 miles. Take Big Bucks out of the Worlde Hurdle and he'd have been an impressive winner, so has the Engine to match. Rated 166 over hurdles he should make up into a top level chaser imo.

Caveat .. he could resort to hurdling should he fail over the bigger ones. Silly

I know everybody thinks this horse will be brilliant over fences but he just doesnt look a chaser to me.

I didn't want to say a thing but I don't fancy this horse at all. Don't think he'll do much over fences or if he stays over hurdles. I just ain't a fan.

I must admit I really like this horse, built for fences, love the way Webber has campaigned it, but wonder if he will travel well enough. He should be tailor made for it, and i guess if he was with PFN some would start calling him the new Denman, but I just wonder if he will quite have the class. That said, some will say anythign he's achieved over hurdles was just a bonus as his game is all about chasing.

Don't be daft R Carver, nobody would ever be calling this hoss the next Denman. Nobody could deny Denman was a beast from day 1. I don't think there was a semi decent rival for Big Bucks last season. So I'm of the opinion this horse will be an average chaser. I don't see what all the fuss is about.

Ha CVB you could be right, i feel sure connections would say he's been biding his time over hurdles as he is really just a chaser in the making, given his size, and i'm prepared to give him a chance, he stays very well, i just wonder if he will quite have the class to get to the V V top, but i do think if he was with one of the fashionable yards he'd be much more highly anticipated. I dont think he's done anything wrong so far, but like you i think last yr's stayers was weaker than the vintage 09 renewal. Time will tell how far he goes..

True, we will only know once he jumps a fence.

RC, I'm with you, really looking forward to him over fences, he's been really good to me, I just hope he takes to them. Time will tell.

CVB, if he was even half the horse Denman was I'd be happy. Blush I defintitely agree with you though, he'll definitely face a lot stronger opposition this season over fences, than he did with the staying hurdlers last year.

Just hope he can repay my faith!
