I remember when I was at school I got the placepot up on the tuesday, then my dad got it up on the wednesday, both didn't pay that much. Then on Thursday I got home from school and put the replays on. I went down in the first leg as I had Anzum in the Triumph, finished 4th, think Silver Wedge was placed also as I was going to have that. Anyway got the rest up until the Foxhunters I had Double Silk was about 1/2, so when it finished out the places I was happy/relieved. Then I found out Anzum had been promoted to 3rd and it was only Double Silk @ 1/2 ish that let me down, was for quite a big placepot I think, especially when I was at school.

A few years ago had the first 5, and was on Grand Jete in the county, had also backed at 28's 25's, cruised into the lead before the last which it clattered and weakened into 5th, nightmare.

Had the pp up two years ago on the wednesday, started off with old benny and finished up with the fav ( travelled like a dream but hit the wall) and silk affair (knife through butter). Picked up £603 put unfortunately did not invest any on dunguib in the bumper !! Plenty of hard luck stories, too many to mention.

Me and me mate had it up on the tuesday this year i had Quevega and he had Voleur in the last leg so decided to go halfs as at least 1 would finish in first 3 and it would pay about 3-400 quid. Both placed and think it only paid about £90 was gutted!

I had it the year Hors La Loi won the Champion, just 1 line for 50p, had In Contrast, Armaturk, Hors La Loi, Ad Hoc, Phar From a Fiddle. I was 16 at the time, was going to back Freetown in the last but my old man was in the Grenadiers so having read Len Lungo's downbeat comments in the post and Pipe's complimentary ones on Guard Duty I plumped for Guard Duty, both went off 20's and think Guard Duty came . Placepot was around 3k, when you consider my spends were £2 a week...........
