Noel Meade still hadn't had a festival winner at that point and I was convinved Hill Society had got up. C4 had both Pipe and Noel Meade together when the photo finish result came through. Pipe's first reaction was to commiserate Meade, which I thought was a pretty huge gesture on his part.

One of the reasons why I love racing - the level of white-hot competition and the incredible sportsmanship moments after the finish. Something I always remember when Premiership Managers whinge about referees or opponents hours after a match has finished.
