Wasn't expecting this, but not surprised it has been made given how much they're likely to make from it.

Saw somewhere it was worth 4x the money of any other fight, so good luck to them.

Hoping Conor gets smashed in a bit, so I can back Jnr close to fight night.

October 8th....

Just have to hope neither of them picks up a knock in the next 6 weeks!

Looking forward to it, and as it's the o2 I'm going. Wouldn't really fancy it in a stadium as you may as well stay at home unless you're ringside.

I will no doubt watch this but seems a better idea for the promoter than the fighters.

Junior must surely walk around 20lb heavier than Conor.

Will he take much notice of the re-hydration clause? They're not going to cancel a huge PPV for it so I guess Jnr will just forfeit a portion of his purse.

Beating a welterweight prospect does nothing for Jnr's career at this point.

Conor heroically getting smashed by a much bigger guy could be the beginning of the end for him, just when he was ready to show if he could really mix it near the top at 147.
Report TimmyRiggins August 17, 2022 8:23 PM BST
I imagine both of them will earn 4/5x what they would have for their next fight, so not an awful one for anyone.

Junior is never going to beat the top middleweights, and conor will just drop back to 147 after.

Junior is small at his weight, and Conor is massive at his, so I'm not sure.

He likes money, so I'd say he will.

Don't think Junior is much bigger, and he's not a massive puncher, either. Think it's quite smart for them both, as I imagine Junior is going to be living in Vegas by 35 and chilling.

It's uncanny, Eubank Jr has that same cool, calm, calculated persona his dad carried and Benn has that same mad dog look in his eyes his dad had, I don't think Eubank Jr realises how good Benn is, he's even chose the catch weight to fight him at even though it seems detrimental to him given the rehydration clause, wont be able to add the pounds after the weigh in to take advantage even more so given the size difference, even his dad didn't want him to take this bout, he knows how dangerous conner is. Watching them square off reminded me of a little bit of De La Hoya and Pacquiao in terms of two boxers who really shouldn't meet because of their natural size and weight, looked like Oscar had dropped nearly a stone by the time he got in the ring and was couldn't throw a punch in the end before the towel came in.

I think it'll be a great fight with a split decision, I'd take Benn at this point.

It is, they're both very much their father's sons.

I got tickets at the front of 101, so will give the forum a wave from seat Grin

Everyone saying how bad it is, I think it's the perfect time for them both, the more I think about it.

Jnr is much like Joshua, in that he's not what he was touted as, and always going to fall short against the elite. Might as well grab what he would have likely made in the rest of his career, but in one fight.

Conor is on the up, and losing to him at m/w won't do too much damage to him, as he can just go back down and push on.

All fun and games, and looking forward to everything but the drive up to the o2 Crazy

agree with what TR says, and if Conor finds a way to win this fight he becomes an absolute superstar overnight

See Eubank Jr is trolling already, posting clips of him sat on the sofa with a bucket of KFC to his story...

Looking forward to it anyway, should be a good night, and I like the o2 now that I've figured out the valet parking Grin
Report wisewords August 29, 2022 1:53 PM BST
indeed he's trolling big time already. sat at the KSI event backstage eating a 15 piece KFC bucket
Report TimmyRiggins August 29, 2022 2:39 PM BST
I said to my mate he was on his story eating KFC watching TV, and then he's sat at the o2 eating it Saturday night.

That said, I can't imagine he walks around much more than 175, so not like he's had an 8ball and a bottle of TequilaLaugh

Indeed, he knows exactly what he's doing. he's really lost his focus though in general for being a big successful champion in boxing. loves posting on Instagram with Dan Bilzerian pretending he's playing poker
Report TimmyRiggins August 29, 2022 4:45 PM BST
He does play poker, and likely gets in some good games hanging around with Bilzerian and Aoki etc.

He was playing in some private cash game on one of the trips I was on. Has been on one of the studio cash games as well at least once.

Epitomises the 'instafamous' fighter, and can't really blame him.

Nas had it right, other than he should finish now part. Why would he, when he can make plenty of money without being all in.
Report wisewords August 29, 2022 4:57 PM BST
Tim don't be so naive. that poker stuff is an image for them, nothing more. you're more likely to be a more accomplished poker player than the likes of Bilzerian and Eubank Jr. you might not agree with me but I'm pretty firm in my take on this
Report wisewords August 29, 2022 4:58 PM BST
and yes, Instafamous is the goal. it's working for him too
Report TimmyRiggins August 29, 2022 7:01 PM BST
Not naive at all, I just said he plays, not that he's any good.

I'm definitely more accomplished than either of them, that doesn't mean they don't get in good games.

They'll be able to play in better games than any I'd be able to get into, were I so inclined or rolled to Cry

Benn's failed a drugs test.
Report tobermory October 6, 2022 5:52 PM BST
The fight between Conor Benn and Chris Eubank Jr, due to take place in London on Saturday, has been postponed.

It comes after Benn, 26, returned what promoters said was an "adverse analytical finding for trace amounts of a fertility drug".

The British Boxing Board of Control had said the bout was "prohibited and not in the interests of boxing".

Promoter Matchroom confirmed on Thursday that the fight had been postponed.

"After discussions with various parties, we have taken the decision to formally postpone the bout between Chris Eubank Jr. and Conor Benn," Matchroom said.

"It is undeniable that the British Boxing Board of Control's decision to withdraw their sanctioning was procedurally flawed and without due process," it added.

"That remains a legal issue between the promoters and the Board which we intend to pursue."

At the media workout on Wednesday, Benn insisted he was a "clean" fighter.
