Can't fault how game Amir is. Must be getting a massive payday though he could get seriously beaten here
Report Zazu February 3, 2016 12:26 AM GMT
Alvarez must be the best opponent in boxing terms of payday vs difficulty

He isn't fast and isn't a big puncher. Always look better than he is because he fights 147lb fighters
Report anfeild February 3, 2016 10:16 AM GMT
Won't fight Kell Brook as he get sparked out and to much pride at stake. Garcia would ko him and no money in it. Alvarez is a payday and i don't rate alvarez he'll beat Khan but mayweather schooled him so Khan probably things his speed could be an advantage. Terrible fight. Alvarez should be fighting ggg and Khan should retire or fight Kell Brook. Boxing is a joke the fights that should happen don't these days its all about money.
Report GRANTCKING February 3, 2016 12:18 PM GMT
anfield atleast khan has the bollocks to take on a proper opponent unlike kell brook, guys a fraud
Report n88uk February 3, 2016 12:56 PM GMT
Isn't Khan just another 147lb fighter though. Alvarez isn't a big puncher, but you don't need to be to beat Khan. The weight difference on fight night is going to be like 1 and a half stone. Hard to see how Khan overcomes that really. It's the sort of fight I expect Khan to look good for about 3 rounds, dazzling Alvarez with his speed, then as soon as he gets caught it's over.
Report tobermory February 4, 2016 12:49 AM GMT
I've always thought Alvarez has a reputation totally out of proportion with his ability/achievements .

Laughable that people were saying Floyd was ducking him ,always gonna be one of his easiest fights.

Doubt he is such a big puncher either . Could not stop Matthew Hatton in 12 , who looked like a munchkin compared to Alvarez.

I only gave him the Cotto fight by 1 round but the judges gave him 119-109 type nonsense and one even gave him a draw v Mayweather (!) so Khan will have a job to win on points.

Still he is tougher than Kevin Bizier i expect so the Kell Brook fans seem a bit silly now.
Report anfeild February 4, 2016 9:17 AM GMT
Brook was hoping to fight Khan who has ducked him. Alvarez imo is not that good. GGG would destroy him that's why he has taken a money fight against Khan. Don't really care about this fight. Khan would go the distance. If he boxed smart he may have a chance. Eddie Hearn is a gangster and his boxers will soon realise he cant get them the big pay days.
Report Mooono February 6, 2016 3:15 PM GMT
This is a total mismatch. I see Khan cruising to a very easy unanimous decision. Yeah Alvarez has the much better power, as khan would struggle to punch his way out of a wet paper bag! But Khans speed and movement wins him this fight.

Lol

Win/Win for Khan as he isnt expected to win and should be able to fight again for another payday at 147

Brook fans are so boring now now. I like Brook/Khan equally and also want to see a fight between the two. But until Brook actually takes some fights that will test him, he has no right fighting Khan. If anything, Khan has made Brook look a bit stupid here.

Amazed how small Canelo looks compared to Khan. Something must have been lost in the imperial to metric conversion when measuring
Report Zazu May 5, 2016 2:10 AM BST
"I'm going to hit Canelo and he's probably not going to feel it, but skill is going to win it," said Khan.

"I don't want to be involved in exchanges, standing in front of him giving him free shots. I know he can hurt me with one big shot.

"So I have to make sure I'm balanced when I'm throwing my own shots. It's all about being disciplined and sticking to the game-plan for 12 rounds.

it says something about Khan that neither Floyd or Pacquaio would never risk fighting him.

if this is the biggest fight of his life, all the best to him.

Middleweight Laugh I just hope he is on his toes ,He has been caught by a Couple of Lighter Guys ,he could end up seriously Hurt here ,Fair play and G luck to him ,Possible points victory

Khan is all hype and talk and sadly doesnt think as fast as he throws. However, Canelo is also a little overrated and he has taken this fight instead of Golovkin. I get the impression here that with Khan wanting to avoid Brook but make $$$, and Canelo delaying GGG, an entertaining draw would be in the interests of all parties and especially Oscar De La Hoya, who can sell a rematch.

Therefore I've had a tenner on the draw at 40s. Canelo may KO him as Khan is glass chinned but I'm not certain enough to go big and hence I've had that play on the draw and will enjoy it whilst it lasts.

I was keeping a very close eye on the price fluctuations during the fight as I was quite happy to stick a dollop on Alvarez stopping him. I couldn't understand in the early exchanges this price drifting up and up as Khan usually looks good early in fights. Must admit the ending was very sudden and surprised me in the context of how I thought it would go down. I had it for an Alvarez left hook being the finishing punch and the straight right wasn't the punch I was expecting to stop it. I thought Khan's speed would have kept him away from a straight punch like that.

Hey ho.

When GGG does a number on Canelo can anyone see them making a weight for mayweather to come back?

Report Eeternaloptimist May 8, 2016 1:02 PM BST
That was a fight that should have been made before Mayweather retired. The fact it wasn't speaks volumes. Mayweather would want to make a lot of money without the risk of serious damage to himself or his ego. So I see little chance.
Report Eeternaloptimist May 8, 2016 1:04 PM BST
The one chance is if he burns through his cash and has an actual need for a huge payday and they stand firm and tell him to forget it unless he fights the one man who would have been favourite over him over the last few years.

mayweather will never fight GGG or canelo without a catchweight. fair play to khan. twice the man fraud mayweather ever will be

you mean like Pacquaio would not fight Cotto at the welterweight limit (for the belt) and made him fight at a catchweight of 145lbs ??

Brain cells

It's funny how many hoops you jump through in your attempts to dog Mayweather you complete Toby Jug. Canello probably outweighed him by 20 pounds on the night and he still lost yet hadn't lost before or since. He'd never fight Pacman ever. Then he did and made him look ordinary.

At least have the decency to admit your a fool. Or do you want to go up in to the loft again and dust your gloves off to prove your a real man? Laugh
