interested to hear how the bookies would pay this one out though. Is there a hard and fast rule?
Are the method of victory market voided? Even though one of them is for draw/tech draw.
Draw backers should have been paid out and other markets settled as losers?

Fight did not go 12 rounds and was declared a 'technical draw'. Bets should be settled as 'fight to go 12 rds' - no. The fight should be settled as a draw as per following rule
For the avoidance of doubt should the fight be declared a Technical Draw it will be settled as a Draw.

draw backers on all markets will be paid, everyone else loses. It's a nonsense and the blame lies squarely at the BBBoC's door for their ridiculous T/D rule. Last one I can remember was Quigg/Munroe I, same thing happened there.

Thats a real danger when you are betting on fights in the UK, unless you're backing the draw of course. I wonder if blindly backing draw in british fights would yield a profit

wondered that myself sometimes pulio, you're certainly getting a chunk of value with the ridiculous under 4 rounds rule. With so few fights being priced up and the lack of a decent database it's hard to gauge how much of an edge it would be though

(sportsbook) - i backed fight go distance (no) they voided, on the exchange it has paid out! is that a sports book error? the rules i have read are the same so why this

I backed Hall to win in rounds 2,3,4,or 5 and have lost on betfair . surerly at worst this should be voided as technical draw was not an option . Will check with my local bookies later .

It s not a Britsh fight. You cant apply British board rules to the IBF WORLD TITLE but like so much the British Board is clueless. The IBF Rules clearly state Accidental foul(s) fight not completed four rounds will be a no contest. The 3 knockdown rule is a prime example of this. Some Organizations have a 3 knockdown rule, now just because the fight is in Britain(the British board dont have a 3 knockdown rule) it still has to be recognised. It s a enormous cluster fu ck last night is clearly a NC under IBF rules

good point. I was forgetting it was a 'world title' fight actually
Did you watch Kovalev mate? Not seen it yet, heard he got his legs stiffened at one point but was pretty impressive nevertheless.

I have to laugh with how this fite has been settled. 1st off i backed Ward wit baldfred, settled as loss, don't think it's fair but whatever the rule is a joke. Just out of interest i had a look at paddys results cos i had probs with them b4. They have settled it a draw but yet have voided basically every other market, over/under, to go distance etc...talk about frauds ffs
Kovalev fite was decent. Guy is just dangerous when he gets angry in ring, think both of them went hospital. But deffo showed up that he cud be clipped, so pity the Stevenson fite not gonna happen

No worries mate as you pointed out the British board for years had a stupid rule eg a fighter loese the fight with a headclash even though he's miles clear, now instead of using your brain and just copying the rest of the world and bringing in a No Contest rule they've made it a ridiculous drawn fight. Very interesting with Froch Groves round the corner. Shows how stupid it is as well it gets called a Technical Draw eg a "Decision" but there is never any cards Havent seen Kovalev mate it s a shame as Joe pointed out the pimp as pulled a stunt and joined showtime

No Decision will be awarded to any of the contestants if the situation occurs before four rounds have been completed

I e-mailed betfair yesterday and asked them to explain there rules on this situation ,which is quite a rare happening in a boxing match to be fair ,still waiting for a reply .

This "decision" was infuriating. How on earth does a fight that doesn't even go to the scorecards be deemed a draw of any sort? I was robbed without a gun here, what a joke.

Bad enuf that the IBF and BBBofC have different rules, then when you throw in the fact that each different firm just settles whichever way suits themselves, this boxing betting is becoming a total minefield. All firms shud be settling the same. Tis a bit like when a footy match gets abandoned, once upon a time firms wud settle in many different ways but these days they usually all settle very similar. Needs to be the same 4 boxing.
