Yeah cracking weekend to get stuck into.
Evs the Murray KO was exactly what i was thinking. Looking at Stieglitz points my self. Hoping bookies will get carried away with stoppage win last time which i thought was slightly exceptional circumstances with eye injury. Loma under 10 rounds is 6/5 with points at 5/4 (Bwin) so expect the KO to be odds on. Interested in JCC stoppage at 13/8 IF he makes weight ok. Hoping bookies (like Sky Sports) read too much into this Joshua opponent going 9 with Del Boy. Been KOd twice since. Early job to add ample fuel to the runaway hype train. |

loma ko 11/10 slybet...good price

Going KO mad this weekend purely based on the oppo seeing better days. Crawford Stieglitz Lomachenko(lightening quick) all singles and chucking them in a trixie. Agree on Murray as well Simpson will be tiny compared to John(point to prove and has the hump over Crolla) and its hardly like Simpson to get on his bike. Good luck all

abraham has looked finished to me in his last few fights going to have a big double with b265 dnb (just in case robberies have been known in scot n germany lol) T C and steiglists works out 10-11. Looking into the murray fight now. word is that chaves has actuyally been training lol so we'll see and like u all cant wauit to see loma vs salido.. just cos u can floor salido doesnt mean he wont stop coming as garcia found out ... loma got hit on his debut and as someione already pointed out if salido gets thru 6 will be very interesting!!!

He cant punch but I've backed Cardle 9-2 stoppage again cos the oppo is mentally broken

strange carry on from Salido, over weight and not even gonna attempt to lose it. Bit of a kick in the hole 4 hbo wit all their hype over Lomachenko title challenge
|
|
By:
yeah 128.25. He'll be around 10-12 lb heavier than vasyl tomorrow night

salido is a model pro. he's been around for years and years. never missed weight before. this has been done for a reason. lomachenko has never been in a 12 round hard fight where he is hurt and salido is still coming 100mph in the 10th round. I fancy Salido to beat him. It won't be anything Salido hasn't seen or felt before. This guy has been in with a whos who of boxing gamboa and garcia, to name a few. Yes he can be outboxed, but he is a tough **** and very hard to put away. Lomachenko is too overhyped. Didn't look anything particularly special on debut.
crawford should beat burns easily. probably get the KO. he's superior to burns in every way. steiglitz looks to have abrahams number. his john ruiz style is pretty effective against a low volume guy like abraham. i think he will win. chavez will beat vera, he won't lose a decision, even if he gets outboxed, and vera is not going to ko him simpson looks too small for murray I will never watch a scott cardle or bradley skeete fight unless they are in 50:50 fights with punchers. |

Great write up Pulio. I do think Vasyl is something else and if he can get through the early stuff I think it will end up like a heavy bag workout and he will stop Salido

I can't believe the talk of Lomachenko KOing Salido. We have to go back 14 years to the last time Salido was KO'd and he was pretty much a novice fighter at the time learning his trade. Guererro, JMM, Gamboa, Garcia, Juanma all couldn't KO him. Maybe im missing something here but it's going to be a shock to me if Lomachenko KO's him. I reckon Salido is coming in strong at the weight and will probably be outboxed for long periods but will keep on coming for 12 rounds. We have to question Lomachenkos power as well. Salido has world class durability. I don't think I've seen a fighter this overhyped in a long time.

Well he's a double Olympic champion has a pro style. Lets really dig a bit deeper here with Salido he's old, he's been done for roids he's been hurt and dropped, plenty in the last few fights. I dont think Loma will need a great deal of power tonight he'll just hit him over and over again

I'll be honest Pulio that was my initial approach to the fight...question the hype, didn't look amazing on debut, Salido a tough nut to crack, possible value. But thinking about it more and more I came to the conclusion that this isn't just another overhyped fighter. You simply cant have nearly 400 amateur fights and only lose once without being very very special. Top Rank went to the trouble of beating off all the competition to secure his signature on the basis of that record and what they saw in WSB...it would be crazy for them to squander their money chucking him in a 50-50 this early on. Arum obviously believes he's levels above Salido. Then there's the sytles to consider, Loma is fast and accurate and Salido has never been difficult to catch.
I dont think there's much to be made of the weight issue, Salido had already said this was his last fight at feather so the belt would have been left behind anyway, I'm guessing at his age its bloody difficult to make feather still and he just didn't see any point in boiling off the last few pounds...I'd be surprised if it makes much difference in the end. |

Just catching up on the action this weekend but will say later on the HBO main event I'm pretty sure Chavez is going to stop Vera. Yes Vera is durable but against a puncher the size of Chavez (who appears to be in shape this time) he's in serious trouble. Vera is a solid pro who comes forward and lets his hands go but lets face it, he is nowhere near A level or even B level. His overall speed is poor, his reflexes are not good and his technique is a little sloppy. The man's head sometimes looks like a pinata in there as he struggles to stop getting hit clean.
Last time Chavez Jr came in overweight and looked the part in the fight as he was sluggish (may be just my imagination by I think the fight may have been reduced to 10 rounds in the buildup). I recall him fighting on the back foot for extended periods, I remember watching it and thinking wtf is Chavez doing? If he just trades with Vera the fight will be over in a few rounds. Clearly his conditioning wasn't great and he opted to just get through it, possibly with the aid of the judges. This time I expect more exchanges and Vera will suffer in these as the fight goes on. Also doesn't hurt with the "robbery" claims of the first fight I'm sure Vera isn't going to be looking to outbox Chavez, he'll probably press more to make it convincing. Predict it ends before round 10. With the Chavez stoppage odds not too much greater than the u11.5 rounds I opted for the latter. |

Yeah Chavez on the back foot v a much smaller man was puzzling last time

wd sj. Got on the Murray stoppage as well. Ridiculous that Simpson is fighting at lightweight. I'm sure he's getting a reasonable payday but he should be at feather with his size.

|
By:
Totally agree this size difference is stupid. Always liked John Simpson being harshly done to on the cards and by promoters throughout his career
