friends with one boxer, only had a few pro fights, he's admittedly an **** by his own admission who offends a lot of people coz he talks his mind, i like him as i understand him a bit better than others, but he seems to of had a pretty weird/crazy life

having an unusual upbringing seems like a trend for a lot of fighters

Met Ricky Hatton a couple of times and he seems the same as what you see on the TV whether you class that as good or bad. The rest I met as a young fella at the gym I doubt anybody would know or remember. Some were decent fellas some weren't. Same as in most walks of life I guess.

Met and interviewed plenty, hardly came across a bad egg yet. Barrera, Witherspoon, Derry, Carl Froch, Marty Murray, Sugar Ray Leonard, The Burrell Twins...from top to bottom I've only come across genuinely nice fellas. They must be out there but I've yet to meet a real ballbag.
Meant to be interviewing David Haye next week, so that might all change soon ![]() |

At the Froch v Kessler fight in the VIP bit & the boxers all seemed like good lads.
Except David Haye who was so vain it beggared belief. One girl who walked over (sober) with a glass of wine in her hand, you would have thought she was smothered in dog sh1t. Whoa, whoa, whoa he said when she was 5 yards away, clutching his crisp white t-shirt. |
