Kerry Kayes? He wrote an article about it saying the gains were insignificant
As far as im aware theyre only dehydrated for a day or so and during this period there calories are heavily restricted anyway. With a few days to go the fight they are still drinking tonnes of water so won't be lbs of turd in them to remove |

Yeah I heard Kayes say in a interview once "I dont know why boxers dont hydrate before the weigh in. The trouble with denying the body fluid to make weight, is that the body then holds every bit of water" So it s a no win situation

Yeah you are literally full of ****.
Colonic irrigation is the waste disposal of faecal matter .....basically you can have upto a stone of this ........... A boxer tho if he loses it will not regain it so what your saying is absolutely bonkers, takes years to build it up and most people only have a few pounds. All boxers use an easier option in the form of laxatives .... Its amazing how many idiots read these stories and post them we need more of you and we have a good profit making system.Faecal matter you find on the layabouts and it is NOT **** it is a mucus type stringy content |

I take zazu's and sj's points on board. Yes zazu it was Kerry Hayes. My question regarding Kerry's point if I read it correctly is would say a rehydrated middleweight at 175-180 be stronger than if he had maintained a steady 160 in the build up didn't dehydrate to make weight and then fought at this more natural weight of 160-165? Logic would say the bigger he is the stronger he will be as long as the weight loss isn't too extreme to make weight. Of course it's only one factor.
kingrattler is a slightly different matter. You being obnoxious doesn't phase me but being obnoxious and then contradicting yourself isn't wise. One minute you are saying there is no benefit to purging the bowel and the next you are saying that boxers routinely use laxatives which do purge the bowel. Make your mind up and try to lose the attitude or you can have some back. |

Sorry mate that came out totally wrong the first part your full of s... was a joke taken out of context..
Over years you can get a large build up of matter in the bowel which can be removed by colon cleansing pills...standard laxatives may not remove all of this. I have heard of some people losing upto 14pounds of this but it is a one off loss and takes years to regain it. The plus points to these tablets are that you lose all toxins within the gut which in turn builds your immune systems defences whilst at first losing the initial matter waste, the drawback is your basically denying the body of vital nutrients whilst this 20 to 60day process takes place. Colonic irrigation however is slightly different in the sense it blasts away much of this matter using a hose with a water jet ....probably better tbh. Sorry again ive just read my post and was a tad mortified how I came across. Boxers will use laxatives to lose weight fast as it takes all water content bar matter waste out depending on the laxative.I stand by my comments there are absolutely no benefits to any boxer losing water content this way because yes the weight will be made for the fight but come fightnight the body will in no way have redeemed the fatigue factor caused by this causing the boxer to 100% in all cases not be naturally as alert and on his game. |

You can drop weight without much detriment to you physically by not eating carbohydrates for 4-5 days before the weigh in of a fight so you can make the weight.
Glycogen holds water at a 3:1 ratio and glycogen comes from carbohydrates. A diet of protein and fat so that's meat, fish, eggs, dairy and nuts contain virtually no carbs. You can easily lose 10 lbs of weight in less than a week without reducing your calorie intake by just not eating carbs. I include fruit and veg in that as well as they are mostly carbs. The weight you do lose though will be water weight and not fat or muscle and as soon as you start to eat carbohydrates again the glycogen will be repleted and the body will hold on to the water weight and you'll be heavier again overnight. |

No worries kingrattler. The internet can be a curse sometimes. Tone and humour often come across wrong. You've never struck me as one for gratuitous insult and I do often deserve it anyway. I was oversensitive.
