Funny you say that SJ - I'm looking for the Donaire left hook to the body to trouble Rigo rather than the other way round!  Just can't back someone who goes to sleep for such long periods at times - esp with Donaire being a 'money' fighter likely to get any close rounds.  Either way hope we get a good fight.

Solis is truly an amazing fighter. One of the best I've ever seen. Look at him now. V vitali, every1 in the pros. Look at how heavy he was in comparison to the amatuar days.

We will find out today if rigo has gone the same way tonight.

Interesting shout. I think it is Rigo best punch. I like Donaire's lead left hook upstairs and Rigo's reflexes will have to be razor sharp with his lazy guard

Just had some Rigo 4-5. HBO had it 7-0 Rigo goign into 8 for what its worth

Draw actually works, maintains rep for both guys and they can both go different ways.

all depends on these close rounds where rigo is on his bike.  Punch wise no doubt he'd be winning them, but the negative style/donaire coming forward plus the crowd you wouldn't be surprised if Donaire is getting them.

He could have and should have done more duke and sj.

He could have won the 1st 3 a lot cleaner than he did. Wen cleaner I mean land more punches.

Defensively as good as any1 bar none.

But there is no doubt rigo could have and should have done more. No doubt.

Get the feeling Bob's going to have to lean on him to do more if he's going to be Top rank's star little guy though, otherwise he'll pull the rug down the line. I love a good defensive show, but he could and should have thrown more. That said Donaire's also to blame for being so clueless and failing to unsettle the stance. Donaire was a lost boy.

Rigo should have punished him more with the left to body

re the chin issue, might sound bizarre because he got dropped in the 10th but I think Rigo put any chin worries to bed tonight. That was flush from Donaire, he was up bowing within two seconds, back in control of the pace by the end of the round. Very impressed with that.

Tbf donaire hardly landed.

Really Carlos? Looked like he bingo'd him on the replay. Rigo was really unaware of it coming as well, usually the ones that do the most damage. Yeh can only see Mikey Garcia giving him any problems down there if he decides to move up.

WD Rigo backers, had him 116-114, thought 116-111 was a bit wide to be fair but it was difficult to score admitedly, Donaire just looked lost.

Agree with Duke regarding Rigo's chin, i had him as potentially chinny before the fight hence me backing Donaire ko but i thought that shot was a peach and Rigo took it very well.

Personally speaking it was a beautiful fight full of elegance and class.

Some people like excitement,  like donaire v nishi, arce etc etc.

But arce, nishi fights for donaire are unfair and pointless.

Rigo v donaire type of fights should e made by public demand.

Amazing peformance from rigo but those that have seen him before know he could have and should have done a bit better in terms of aggressiveness.

Jimmy donaire wasn't coming forward, rigo moving at his own pace.

Only rounds I can give to donaire is round 3, 10 and 11.

U have to be a little bias in giving him them 3.

But can't give donaire 4 rounds.

Even round 10 was a rigo domination

I do think jimmy he could have won the rounds cleaner.

Eg could have at least won the 1st 3 clearer.

Certainly should have won rounds 11 and 8. Eespecialy the 11th as donaire was hurt in the 10th IMO and rigo put a lazy 11th. Had he put more into it maybe the sponge would have come.

And he could have been far more intense in the 12th

Well done Rigo backers, only had him in a treble but delighted he's won.

Fair play to Donaire for taking the fight, he will no doubt move up in weight now.
