Thompson weighing around 19lbs heavier than for the Klitschko fight, heaviest ever. Fought outside US twice and KOd both times by Klitschko. Price is a more aggressive version of Wlad and as soon as Price lands it's over. 10/11 rds 1-4 for me. First major bet of the year after 3 1 point losses - this is the turning point.
Thompson actually shys away from punches rather than holding or fighting back. He went down like a sack of spuds in 2nd round of Wlad fight last year from a glancing blow, wasnt hurt - just looking for a way out. One last pay day for the 41-year-old me thinks. Price likes to land in the first round and as soon as he does it's over. |

Totally agree Smido, had Price inside 6 doubled up with Peterson last night paying about 10/11. Think Price makes this look easy. All the signs are there that Thompson has just come for the payday and with Price's power i cant see this going far. Price in the 4th would be my guess.

|
By:
If I was gona back summit under 5.5 rounds at laddies at 4/6 looks half okish.
But a big no bet for me. Infact iv put a few cheeky quid on Thompson I just can't see how so many people have backed price into 1/12 from 1/6. Price is purly untested |
|
By:
must admit I've left it alone too Carlos, having a shocking run at the moment and couldn't handle losing a wedge on a fighter I'm not even convinced by. Good luck to all the lads onboard though, should be a quick nights work.

Iv hardly had a bet on boxing this year.
Dnt like the match ups so far awful line up. Rigo v donaire by far the biggest fight of this year and dats on tentative date of April 15th I think. I guess salido v dat kid was pretty special |

Was it a one punch special?

By:
Punch didn't even seem to catch him properly, looked like it hit his neck.

|
By:
yeah one out of nowhere but not even that big a shot, glass all over the canvas. Well done Carlos. I chucked a tenner on thompson 1-4
and a tenner on thompson round 1 ![]() |

By:
I did not think Price was chinny...Mind you unproven and heavyweight game is one punch..Happened to Lewis twice

Price being decked in head gear in the amateurs told it's own story...didn't think it would be tonight though must admit

great call Carlos and Alabaster
|
|
By:
It wasnt even a clean shot or hit with real power.
From potential heavyweight king and millions£, to getting £100k for fighting Fury. If he gets beat by him he will be sweeping up at anfield for £5 an hour. |
|
By:
to early to write price off. sure big worries on the jaw. but he carries a real dig, if fit and apart from thompson has looked good. current heavies not great either - no lennox out there. he will come again and fury holds no fears for him imo

This year has just not been a good betting year.
Realy realy fancied fury against this guy. Only way price wins is via ko, mind u it's the only way he loses too. Right fights just not being made I think fury v price would have made me a few quid. I backed fury at laddies at 15/8 (fight before 31/12/13). Thought 15/8 wouldn't last, instead it went to 11/4. So had a bit of that too. Just been down the bookies and they saying it still stands. But that's bull, if they fight this year fury will be like 1/4 1/7sh. Surly they won't pay me out 15/8 and 11/4. R they just trying to hold my money till the end of the year. Anything I can do |
|
By:
You're bet still stands, once they fight this year those bets will stand, if they don't fight they will be voided

yes PF is correct

Can't see where Price goes from here myself
Why would Fury fight him this year? The fight is worth half what it was before , now that it would no longer be 2 unbeaten prospects , but it would still be a risk for Fury. If Fury beats him then he has done nothing more than Thompson has, so doesn't enhance his own reputation much . If Fury loses then his own world title hopes are done as well. |
|
By:
well done Carlos and Alablaster
Needed Price 1-6 for a bit of a wedge so im a little gutted! The only conclusion i can come to from that is that Price is massivelly chinny! It wasnt even a big shot, more a glance at the back of the ear. He has the offensive tools to come again but he's going to need a Wladamir-esqe defence because he looks up there with Khan in terms of glass-ness. |
|
By:
I said on here after Skeleton I had big doubts you can see the fear in his eyes when someone tries to land. Unless he can adopt a Klitshcko like gameplan it s over
|
|
By:
Fury still 11/4 v price.
|
|
By:
Price will defend brit crown v nobody and then a proper test v chisora.
If he doesnt come through that he is history. If he beats chisora and can scalp a decent yank he still gets a world title shot when the Klitscovs are well gone in 18months/2 years in future. |
|
By:
how the hell is Fury still 11/4? That is absolutely nuts.
|
|
By:
fury is a 1/2 shot imo
|
|
By:
It dont matter what price they are in the 'potential fight' market coz it aint happening this year. As tobermory says - fight worth half it was now.
SJ did highlight the issue after Skelton fight. I disagreed and was wrong. Promoters of Quigg and Frampton could learn something here. Undefeated domestic showdowns worth a lot of £££££ until one of em gets beat. I think Quigg wins that but we need a new thread for that |
