Very upset!! Woke up this morning to see laddies had made what i would call a huge blunder!!! 7-4 1-6 round mckenzie an improving boxer, with very sharp hands against a shot to fcuk enzo!! only one result surely all it will take is one punch. Why am i upset? I was dragged around castles and what not up in scotland... By time i managed to find a laddies price backed down all the way to 11-8 touching every price inbetween. Upset but still think this is a give away price. Mckenzie is sharp i dont think he's a massive puncher he's got heavy hands alright but its his sharpness out of the blocks. Tony Bellew called him a world class 3 round fighter and although im not taking that for gospel, i think after the 6th round his power and sharpness wane probably due to the amount of oxygen his muscular frame takes.... ENZO a warrior but there is no doubt he's shot, last time out against a relative nobody in mcphilbin he seemed to me arguably to block the punch and still go over like he was hit clean on chin, do the chicken dance, then he was bailed out,,, with 47 seconds knocked off the round, theres no question he would of been stopped he was done. This was against arguably a medium puncher now he faces a puncher... And we all know off the other examples of enzos showing his chinnyness. I genuinely worry for his health and i think rest of boxing feels the same, i think boxing will have to protect enzo from himself here.. Full respect to enzo massive cajohnes but this is getting to the point where bravery is moving into stupidity.  Enzo's braveness will be his undoing because he'll start out boxing or trying to but as soon as he's half caught he'll want to show his braveness then he'll be flat on the floor career over... Opinions would be nice? but generally think 11-8 standout bet!!!

Is this a Frank Warren Boxnation Production though?

After the last Enzo fight on there i'd be reluctant to back Andre Ward to beat him Crazy
Report carrie1187 • November 8, 2012 7:20 PM GMT
I kno what ure saying, last time enzo against mcphilbin 47 seconds is knocked off a round? Have you ever seen that? I haven't. Word is frank warren said he didnt want him to come back before last fight, and no matter what anyone says and even though he won it showed us more negatives than positives... Frank doesnt want him to get gurt and you cant compare mcphilbin to mckenzie...

Looks like every man and his dog wanted a piece of ovil early, missed most of the value myself, taken a little bit of 5/2 rounds 1 to 4. Agree about the mcphilbin kd, looked like the glove took most of the punch and he still went down heavily. Too many bad knock downs  for enzo I m afraid could see him going down from the first clean punch.

Some quality action stateside this weekend, hopefully a few more markets priced up tomorrow.

First instinct is to say Mckenzie by KO but you'd have to say Enzo is by far the more accomplished boxer. Anybody think there is a chance that he will put in a Bellew esque performance and bore his way to a points decision?
Report alabaster crashes down • November 8, 2012 7:40 PM GMT
Can't see it personally owl, too fragile to pull that off now surely. only way I see him winning is landing a big one first if they exchange early.
Report carrie1187 • November 8, 2012 7:43 PM GMT
No he has no chin at all,Ovil is a bright enough fighter to no ( watched a video where he said he thinks enzo is shot) that his best chance is to jump him early and he's very good at that. He is the better boxer but he has always been the same as, he likes a scrap. Even if for some reason after all this time he decides to change his plan and box he may totally outbox mckenzie but as shown by the mcphilbin punch (glad to see people agree) even if he doesnt take on clean he may still be knocked out. Think ovil will jump all over him knowing he can take a punch where enzo can't. Enzo may land a punch as they say last think you lose is ure punch and he's always had that... but it will take one from mckenzie.. I honestly think this fight may only last two rounds ive gone safety first 1-6 but i think itll be done and dusted in 3 max...

ps really fancy moreno points be interested to see what price that is, think he is the complete boxer.
Report alabaster crashes down • November 8, 2012 7:51 PM GMT
All over Moreno myself mate in fact I think he may well stop him.
Report carrie1187 • November 8, 2012 7:54 PM GMT
From body shot's? i just looked at price only an 1-8 th bigger safer just outright price. Can just see him dancing around jab in face smashing the body would be a late stoppage if so..

If Warren was that concerned about Enzo's wellbeing he would have not promoted any of his fights the last 2 years after all the heavy knockouts he'd had by then

From what i've heard Warren thinks a Cleverly v Enzo Fight (no matter how pointless it seems in the scheme of things) would be a huge seller for Boxnation and just needs Enzo to have one convincing win against an opponent people have vaguely of in order to manipulate the rankings and justify this as a World title Fight.

Thats why McPhilbin was robbed as defeat there would have been the end of Enzo's career (and rightly so)

Warren cannot seriously see Enzo as someone who should still be fighting from a logical point of view .He just thinks money can be made .Also that he would like to stage a fight with Cleverly indicates he does not think much of Nathan either ,as he surely should have moved on to fight the best in his weight class by now.

As it is we have Enzo and Cleverly fighting the same weekend ,so very easy for them to fight each other next in March .I think Ovill might have to knock him out twice to win this!

Report Jimmy Diamond • November 8, 2012 9:11 PM GMT
Ive been the first to say Enzo should quite after his last few Ko's.........but for some reason i fancy him to win this. I think 2/1 that is available on Enzo is a good price and im considering backing at that.......sure he might be a bit shot but this is Ovil Mackenzie who has lost a third of his fights. Enzo got done by Frenkel, Ofalabi and Lebedev who are all considerably slicker than Ovil.

I think Enzo might be able to box his way to a win here........you sure wouldnt lump on with the possibility his chin has gone but 2/1 is an insult imo.
Report carrie1187 • November 8, 2012 9:25 PM GMT
and what happened against mcphilbin? (playing devils advocate, i like to see contrasting opinions it makes me look at different things that maybe i have missed)
Report alabaster crashes down • November 8, 2012 9:25 PM GMT
I started looking at the fight with enzo outright in mind jimmy when I saw the prices , but rewatched his ko video nasties and he just looks totally done.
Report tobermory • November 8, 2012 9:43 PM GMT
Jimmy does make the salient point that Ovill has never really been very good
Report Jimmy Diamond • November 8, 2012 9:51 PM GMT
Totally agree that Enzo is done lads, anybody decent knocks him out all day long.............im just not sure that Ovil is that man. I could be made to look very stupid if Ovil dusts him early but the prices just dont look right to me. Enzo might still have enough guile to avoid the weapons that a limited fighter like Mackenzie brings. Throw in the complete fix that was the Mcphilbin fight and you have to think someone is pulling for Enzo somewhere........
Report carrie1187 • November 8, 2012 9:53 PM GMT
and mcphilbin is? he would of tko enz in 1. next fight mcphilbin totally dominated. Think thats the point everyone ho supports enzo is missing he won last fight but we all know mcphilbin was robbed he had him out didnt have a clue where he was, and had 47 seconds to finish him which he would of defo done.... 47 seconds dissapear... so in my eyes enzo's record reads he was tko 1st round again mcphilbin who was dominated next fight. If he wasnt robbed and that is what the official record said... We'd all be saying enzo shouldn't be in ring with a puncher like mckenzie ( i still feel that).... And i go back to the mcphilbin punch he blocked it id say 75 per cent, and it was as if tyson had just smashed him.. Thats worrying mcphilbin aint  a puncher mc kenzie is
Report Jimmy Diamond • November 8, 2012 10:01 PM GMT
Yeah........Enzo was that shot and battered against Mcphillbin in the first round that he managed to go the full distance.

Im not saying the bell didnt save him, of course it did, and Enzo's punch resistance has gone no doubt about it but if he was so gone then how come he managed to go the full twelve with Mcmuffin? he must have had something left.

I totally agree that Ovil could get him out of there early but Ovil isnt the super slick warhorse that your making him out to be, didnt he lose to Ajisafe ffs.

9/4 on the better boxer seems value to me.

fair play difference of opinions is what its all about! look forward to seeing the fight!
Report owl4life • November 8, 2012 10:13 PM GMT
I'm looking forward to this, interesting to see if Enzo's chin holds up.

WAR Enzo
Report steeringjobnap • November 8, 2012 11:23 PM GMT
Ovil dropped Bellew twice, he can certainly "bang".

Enzo's reduced punch resistance reminds me of a certain former Olympic silver-medalist from Bolton...

Mind you when you consider the way Enzo got off the hook vs Mcphilbin all you can say is that it evens it up in some kind of weird way!!!

I guess the real problem is the damage done to the credibility of Boxing.

I think its as they're saying. Enzo shouldn't be fighting and Ian John Lewis has panicked and jumped in trying to protect him and then not had a clue how to get out of it.

Not fixed just a terrible mistake.

just seen it lads and im a bit pissed off at that! I had a small play on Enzo and was happy enough with how he started. He caught Ovil with a few nice shots and if he could have weathered the first 4 rounds then i would have fancied him to take charge.

Ian Jon Lewis is a disgrace to boxing. That was as bad a f*ck up as ive ever seen in a boxing ring. Enzo wasnt hurt at all. How can IJL still be reffing - this is the guy who in a prize fighter fight gave a fighter a score of 30 despite the fact he had been knocked down.....joke! and yes, my pocket is talking!Laugh

Ian John Lewis: i have never seen any official, in any Sport , be regarded so consistently as , at best , a figure of fun.

Surely Warren is not going to dare put up Cleverly v Ovill as a world title fight Confused

Clev says he's fighting his mandatory then having "big" fights.

The sad thing is he needs to keep the belt to attract name fighters cos without it he's a nobody. Although is there a reason he couldn't have fought his mandatory this time out?

If big Frank thought it was a good idea to put Liam Walsh in with Ricky Burns you can be sure he wont be scared to put Ovil in with Clev!

McKenzie no doubt owes a great deal of his good fortune to Dean Francis' decision to take a dive in his Prize Fighter semi-final with Buster Keeton back in May 2009. Francis had already beaten McKenzie in one round a few fights earlier, and probably would have taken him out again. McKenzie was left behind to mop up against the motley crew left over, and in the process elevated himself from journeyman status to a potential domestic contender. Francis has his first fight since that Prizefighter on the 1st of December. Who knows, maybe he'll even rematch McKenzie finally somewhere down the road?
