Agree. Thought Joshua won the last but NOT by 3. Feel sorry for the game Italian

Lost to the cuban and lost today but gets Gold, olympics been awful for boxing fans.
The media will hype it up however and wont mention the shocking results |
By:
Cammarelle fought well.... but to call it daylight robbery is a little OTT. It was a close fight, check the Gvozdyk bout if you need clarification in defining "robbery".
Agree Henry14, definitely lost against the Cuban. |

No one thought Joshua won.
He nicked the last round that was dominated by holding, they were both exhausted. No one on the planet other than the corrupt judges could give the final round by 3 to Joshua. Khan thought Joshua won comfortably, says it all, he is clinically thick. |
By:
Yeah Kahm has clearly taken too many shots to the head, infact He still thinks he is a good boxer
By:
Mullah, I traded Cammarelle, green on him.
All I am saying is that I have seen worse! |
By:
So you think Joshua lost the 2nd by 2 and the Italian won the 3rd then Ommie? Result could have gone either way and not the worst decision by a long long long way. I thought he lost his first fight though.

By:
People with a clue about how the scoring works know if a contest is tight and could go either way.
There have been some disgraceful scoring and that super heavy final was a very poor one. The Italian won, I know it you know it, every boxing judge knows it and Joshua would know it. |

Woulda have to agree, would fear for the agogo lad more though, got rocked a through times during the olympics, could be lights out against a decent puncher and no head gear. Hopefully they get hyped and eventually we get some nice odds on their opponents |

Where did I say he was ****?? I just dont think he will achieve tonnes in the pros, even with the state of the division at the moment I think several would prove to good for him, besides the gold was won based on being the home fighter not skill levels
By:
"Isnt gonna do sod all in the pros poor boxing skills"
No you didnt say he was shoite at all. Good that you ntuned in just for 9 minutes of the bloke's career though you can alaway base an opinion of a fighter on just three rounds. He won today should never ever of been down going into the 3rd |
By:
Why do people do that? If you don't know anything about electricals you aren't going to tell someone how to rewire a house are you? How anybody can say Joshua won't do anything in the pros based on his performances at these games is beyond me. He clearly has a good work ethic, doesn't seem the type to get carried away with his own aura, judged on the way the olympic champion was hanging on for dear life in the final 3 minutes and he was moving him around at will he must have good strength and his all round conditioning or engine must be decent seeing as he was the only one throwing punches in the last round. Throw in he put the chinese lad down with a legit punch so must carry some power.
Yep I can see why he will be just another bum in the pros. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

I simply agreed with this statement, I also told people early on his career that Kahn would get found out and he has immense skills just lacks a brain. I dont think josh has '****' skills but he is hardly what you would call a skillful boxer is he Ofcourse you would know how much of his career I have seen, well done for knowing me so well. Finally wheather you think he won today or not is irrelevent, we both know he got outclassed by the cuban and doesnt deserve gold You like him so much, back him if and when he goes pro, I will bide my time wait for him and agogo to fight easy fights build a record and then when they get against a good fighter I will take the tasty odds on the opponent. A bit of patience and im sure it will prove profitable |
By:
And he has only had about 40 amateur fights.
By:
For a lad who has been boxing for 4 years he has masses of skills for a boxer.
Power, mobility, speed, balance, size, boxing instincts, cool under pressure. Loads of improvement to come. He will be a beast in the pros within 4 years. BUT he did LOSE that fight and I didnt have a PENNY on. |

We all knew early on about Khan's chin but remember that his willingness to apply himself and working with a good trainer took him all the way to a world title despite this limitation. Joshua is a baby in heavyweight terms and has had hardly any career in the amateurs and yet has still won gold. The time to judge how far he is likely to go as a pro will be after a dozen or so fights. |
By:
Why do people do that?
So people shouldnt have an opinion or make a prediction. What about promoters? Is it not their job to predict if someone could make it in the pros or not? Is them being right or wrong not how they make their living? Its a boxing forum people are going to give opinions, well done to the lad, all im saying is I personally dont think he will achieve much in the pro's, good luck to him I hope he proves me wrong, but this is a boxing forum and Im giving an opinion. I would rather read what people think than the constant nut hugging of certain fighters And lets not forget recent olympics successes like harrison and kahn who both got found out at top level |
By:
Yeah HUGE respect for getting where he has within such a small period of time
By:
`I also told people early on his career that Kahn would get found out'.
I take it you have gone skint taking him on then? From that early career he has gone on to make many millions and become a world champion. |

Its an opinion, agree or disagree dont tell someone when he should form an opinion. I could be wrong I could be right but thats what I feel atm Lets be honest Kahn got found out before facing the elite fighters, he got their despite his limitation cus he is marketable As for Josh huge respect for doing what he has in such a short period of time but please put won in little coma's, he was never going to be allowed to get anything else after getting the decision against the cuban. I wish him luck despite my beliefs' he wont be major |

I take it you have gone skint taking him on then? From that early career he has gone on to make many millions and become a world champion Go skint on Kahn?? He is normally stupid odds, you only need to have laid him one or two fights and you be in profit. Dont kid yourself, Kahn has immense natural talent but not the brain to use it. Is and never will be top level Any kahn fan should be thankful he didnt fight the Garcia fight the way he should of, because if he won and got the mayweather fight it would of been Floyd v gatti all over again but much more brutal as Kahn cant take punishment like Gatti |
By:
To be fair to Joshua he won the aba's 3 years ago in his 1st year. Only man to beat cammerealie for quite last year in major championships and his done it again today.
Fair play to him. Skills are good but not polished at all. That's only cus his not been boxing for long |
By:
Patently that is nonsense. He was, wrongly in my view, 3 points down going into the 3rd round. That is how the judges saw it. So to suggest that the fix was in is ludicrous. Had he been battered in that 3rd there is no way they could have given it to him given that the Italian was comfortably ahead.
By:
he has a horribly inaffective jab and seems to lack good boxing skills. i get the feeling hes gonna go unbeten for abwt ten then take a few losses thats all. weel see whos right just wait
By:
Time will tell.

Not nonsense at all, he got the homer decision against the cuban, he should of been out at that point. Lets not play dumb, almost every Olympics see's awful decisions and they are often in favour of home fighters. Even some of the greats got screwed such as floyd and who could ever forget poor roy jones jnr?

Don't win a gold medal without skills
One thing about Joshua though, i thought he looked overly muscular for a boxer which don't help the stamina in the long fights you get as a pro |
By:
henry
You've just proven it is nonsense because you are now harking back to his fight against the Cuban. As it happens I also thought he lost that fight though it wasn't a robbery in my view. |
By:
tobermory
He has a bit of the Bruno about him in his muscular definition which could be a worry. It'll be interesting to see how he goes. |
