Any views? The stallion book has him at 135 mares in his first season. I am looking for a cheap filly foal next week. 3rd season sire, is he worth a punt?

Think you’d definitely have a chance with him. Seems to get a very solid type of foal/yearling.

Thanks Wily, I will see what they are like this week. With 135 mares covered in his first season he should pick up a few winners. Unlikely to fail completely with his first runners (famous last words).

havana gold's 2yo's have done well this season, 55-23-34 good enough to make the top 5 this season 2yo's leading sires list, considering only 57/198 overall for 2yo winners

I listened on a podcast last night hosted by Jack Cantillon discussing FSS's. Havana Grey got the thumbs up.

surprisingly little chat about Sioux Nation considering he has the numbers

I'm not sure about HG Wily. I always thought he was a bit unsubstantial himself and the yearlings I have seen weren't that impressive. I'm sure SN has plenty to run for him but I might just go for Expert Eye at a price. He was very good himself and was well supported.

Certainly the leading first season sire by a distance. 27 wins in GB alone with half of the 2yo season still to come.

Yes Sageform, will win the title easily now I'd have thought. I've seen quite a few and they are imo good lookers. Unfortunately they can't quite get over the line in front in top class races. He could well go the way of Sakhee's Secret.

Winning on number of winners is not always the same as most prize money. A couple of Group 1s in the autumn could project another sire but on numbers it is already settled.

Easy winner of the Super Sprint added one winner but an awful lot of prize money as well.

Havana grey gets a winner in Japan. Won’t help him here but interesting none the less

Two more here yesterday as well. Meanwhile Can To Can continued the winner a day for Kodiac at Pontefract.

Vandeek off to CP for £15k. I think it's HG's first son off to stud (apologies if I've missed one) and not a bad one to start off with. Nice to see CP get a good commercial one, let's hope he does the business for them.

Shouldhavebeenaring is also off to the Irish National Stud at the same time. Vandeek is a big horse, no problem sending those tall mares to him!

Havana Grey on 58 GB wins this flat season which places him 5th on races won but only 12th on prize money won. Still impressive in fourth season.
