Three colts, Khalifa Sat, Youth Spirit and now Hoo Ya Mal all bought for around £40k. 2 Derby runners, one runner up and the other won the Chester Vase and now wins the Convivial Maiden with the third one. How lucky is that.

Now Green Team who cost £55k wins nicely at Ayr trained by Kevin Ryan. Hoo Ya Mal was a close second in a listed race at Doncaster and Youth Spirit fifth in the Leger. Either a very lucky owner or a very shrewd one.

Another Derby second for this very luck owner.

Saw a bit of an interview with him on Sky racing this am and must catch up with the rest of it. He is a front man for a syndicate from Dubai.

No surprise that a more knowledgeable owner will get better results. These owners that carry money, matches and petrol to the sales could’ve cured world hunger by now

hundreds of more wealthy people have tried and failed to buy 2 horses to finish placed in a Derby.

Hoo Ya Mal sold for £1.2 million yesterday and goes to Australia after hopefully running at Ascot. Hope he has a 2yo still in training.

New owners are running Hoo Ya Mal here after all but from a different yard. No sign of a 2yo for Ahmad yet.
Report Formtwist July 28, 2022 8:15 AM BST
According to Kingsclere website Ahmad has four 2yo in training, all stoutly bred types so not likely to be seen out for some while yet.

And now he wins the Grand Criterium with Dubai Mile. Another £20k Group 1 winner bought at auction.

Very respectable fifth in the Guineas by Dubai Mile. Yet another very shrewd investment for Ahmad Al Shaikh.

And Etihad Rail who cost just £3000 was a good third at Newbury. Who buys them?
Report monarch May 20, 2023 8:35 PM BST
Freddie Tylicki listed as the buyer of Etihad Rail at last years Goffs Premier Yearling Sale. 5k Vendor buyback, then Freddie bought it privately for 3k.

Interesting. This owner is either a very good buyer or very lucky. How many people who spend fortunes on horses get 2 relatively cheap buys placed in the Epsom Derby within 4 years?
