Was it a little naive for The National Stud to go into partnership with Phoenix in 2 stallions!?m    (Advertise & Aclaim)

most people could smell a rat fairly early on but they ploughed on. Surely some due diligence should have been done. Could prove awkward for them.

I don't think many would have turned away Advertise. I also don't think that the national studs reputation will be in anyway whatsoever tarnished by dealing with fraudsters and money launderers (if thats what they turn out to be). I have a feeling  that people at the top of this sport only care about themselves and would far rather deal with a rich fraudster than an honest poor man. The establishment have dealt with immoral countries and rulers for years and horse racing is their game.
