Defo a stamina influence, but that's 2 classy types under his belt. Not sure what kind of books he has covered, has he got the mares other more high profile types have? Covered 136 mares last year, not sure of the quality in his books but l'm sure someone on here will know

2022 flat season, 40 winners from 97 runners, finished 10th in the table.
Current jump season (GB) 11 wins from 43 runners. 45th in the table. That does not suggest an NH career to me. |

Kitty's Light has been the shining light. By Nathaniel out of an Aga Khan mare, he has produced some extraordinary results (£254k in 3 runs) but of course a stallion can't base a reputation on one offspring. I still like Nathaniel and hope he gets the right mares for both flat and jumps to enhance his reputation.

I feel sure Newsells Park are more interested in promoting Nathaniel as a flat sire than a jumps one. In addition, Nathaniel's stud fee could deter a lot of jumps breeders.

Its a very fine path to tread as a middle distance flat stallion. You are top class or you are NH. I think N has a chance but it is going to be tough. One or two quiet seasons will see him off the flat radar. Personally I really like him and hope he stays the course.

Is he not great value now? Lase year his median was £35k which is a good profit on his £15k stud fee. I think he's done well.

Problem is how long you have to wait if you buy yearlings. In order of RPR from the RP website, these are dates and distances of debut runs and first win.
Enable 2yo November 1 mile won. Just one run at 2. Desert Crown 2yo November 1 mile won. Just one run at 2. Quickthorn. First win as a 3yo over 10 furlongs and then gelded! Lady Bowthorpe Debut September 2yo. First win August 3yo. Dashing Willoughby debut August 2yo won over 1 mile on AW. Glencadam Glory. Debut August 2yo 1 mile and won next time in a mile maiden. So none of his best progeny ran before August and none ran over less than a mile. So an October yearling will not run for almost a year and many not until 3yo. Despite that, those with long pockets and patience are getting some very high class stayers. |

Which is probably why he is such good value. With around 10% of his runners rating 100+ I think they are worth waiting for and you don't need to be too rich to buy/breed one.

And another horse going 100+ today, Novel Legend. 1 win as a 3yo and 3 wins as a 4yo with nearly 100k in prize money. Very much in the profile that Sageform outlined.

You Got To Me also met the profile. September debut over a mile and won. 62k foal and 200k yearling.
