There’s so many black type races in Ireland that handicappers are getting valuable black type status.
A 6 runner group 3 tonight Leopardstown tonight,
the top rated performer is rated 98 followed by 97,93,92,91 with a 74 the lowest rated of the 6 runners.
This has become a regular trend in both flat and NH races in Ireland.
Is it acceptable that handicappers should be getting valuable black type?

Ireland not the sole culprit.  The whole black type system is a farce and needs reevaluating. Sooner ratings are published in catalogues the better. As for listed handicaps! Don't get me started

The should print every word in every sales catalogue in black type.
Black type is meaningless sales promotion fodder.

Black type has lost a lot of credibility.
The sales catalogue should give the official rating for all progeny published on the page.
Problem solved?

It seems to me that it is much easier to gain "black type" in Ireland than in UK. The internional Pattern Race Committee seems to have given Ireland a blank cheque to introduce an unlimited number of such races. If I was an owner (!), I would deinitely want my fillies to be trained in the Emerald Isle.
