Varian has a Slade Power colt out of Miranda Frost. Cost g120k and not named yet as far as I know and no entries. Half brother to listed winner/Gp placed Eqtiraan who was 5th beaten less than five lengths in yesterday's Meydan "Group 1" won by Blair House. Might be worth a look if and when it runs.

Re Kingman - lots of them around and and at least one good judge likes many of them very much. Looking forward to the Taghrooda filly who is going to/or is already with John Gosden.

these three dams were rated 100/102/102 needles and pins / blue angel / al sharood, all three of these slade power horses still are unnamed. feel the noize (dam sugar free) rated 99 listed winner over 5f by oasis dream, interesting sprinting pedigree.

Don't think SP is going to make it. Dark Angel sons aren't doing it yet.
By:
you are quick to make judgements, well when i started getting interested in these first season stallions
was hoping there would be potential group 1 winners, now im more interested in the whole crop, overall. theres plenty of time for them to get the success needed to carry on the stallions bloodlines. you have to get the right match to create a group 1 horse, that just hasnt happened yet. |
By:
princess power wins for the 4th time today 15/8 fav 6f good class 2 nursery handicap goodwood

TH were those 2 unrelated sentences in the same post?
By:
Hi Proxy, yes you are right. I was thinking of Lethal Force not Slade Power when I wrote that, as LT was in the original post. I was going to post again to rectify my mistake but as I don't think SP is that great I left it as it was. Princess Power doesn't change my mind but does make me ask questions about the handicap system. Her first three runs were woeful, suddenly she is flying. How lucky was that for the connections!!!!
By:
Agree about the handicap system, and think we're in the same boat about sons of DA.
By:
We should be in the same boat with SP as well, he isn't cutting it.
By:
do you know how many group 1 winning sprinters in the last 20 years, have that have produced group 1 horses
that have become stallions? would be interesting to know how many have failed and succeeded. |
By:
Ah, but I have no investment in offspring of SP as he was always out of my range so I don't need to make a judgement...
By:
i thought none of kingmans progeny would go under the radar, 25/1 winner today and 66/1 in the early price markets, starting over a mile FTO, top jockey and trainer 140k purchase
