We've all just seen the future in regards to top class 2yo's for the next 10/15 years if Caravaggio doesn't suffer the same unfortunate fate of his sire.
Goes on quick going, soft going, perfect temperament in prelims and race, superstar at 2yo and 3yo... What does he open up at fellas....150k? |
By:
He would have to win all the all aged G1 6F sprints by about 5L each for that sort of fee??
By:
Think he'll win the July Cup by at least a few BBC...won't ever get beat that horse and will retire unbeaten.
They won't risk running him unless he's 110% and if he is there isn't a sprinter around to match him. His time figures were ridiculous prior to today's race and he's won easily yet again....even changed his legs near the line and Harry Angel is a seriously good horse who he beat readily. Be surprised if he starts at less than 100k - they'll want only quality for him as they'll have a batallion of Galileo mares themselves which will go to him...he's a perfect outcross for them. |
By:
There was a very telling interview with Mr Magnier after the race, when he actually said 'we need him' as that outcross for all those lovely Galileo mares they have like you say....
And Mr M was right as well when he said he was a better horse than Scat Daddy was. There is no doubting he is very good and at least better than all the 3 yo sprinters around, but until he's run against and beaten all the older horses..... He's going to be standing at Coolmore whatever happens. |
By:
now he's won a G1 at 3 what he does from now on is almost immaterial the Outfit have enough mares of their own to keep him busy
By:
Agreed A_T but of course, Coolmore is a business too, and they need to fund these expensive yearling purchases (and the training fees of course!)

Another nice one for SCAT DADDY yesterday-a filly called SPECIAL PURPOSE won very nicely at Lingfield for William Haggas, Oisin Murphy and Qatar Bloodstock.
She may be very well named. She looked above average at least to these eyes. She quickened up really well and won going away. |
