Thanks Sageform. Kyllachy at £15k must be the very best value stallion in this price range. I think his profile is pretty good with trainers (although I am happy to be corrected if that's not the case). He used to be the subject of a lot of posts on this forum but isn't mentioned much lately.

Dubawi is racing along after a slow start. Just 13 wins to the end of April but 19 in May and 11 in June so far after Ottonian at Haydock and Daira Prince in the 3.10 at Yarmouth. Total now 43.

Game Starter was the 21st win for Dubawi in June, far more than any sire. Godolphin rely on him as much as Coolmore on Galileo.

A late across the card treble for Exceed and Excel including Out Do in the Wokingham, Queen In Waiting and Gilmer. Now on 63, just 2 behind Kodiac.

Pastoral Pursuits with 4 winners in 2 days and Sir Prancealot both getting plenty of winners recently.

Another double for Kodiac already today with Foxy Forever and Madeline in the Listed Rose Bowl Stakes. I know he has a lot of runners but that in itself is a tribute to the soundness and ability of his progeny.

I have been informed his AEI is poor?

I just work on number of winners so I will leave it to others to judge his value. Kyllachy still doing well with Classic Seniority winning a £20k handicap tonight and Frosting winning over 10 furlongs!
|
|
By:
my hot streak theory working out well with classic seniority, 42 races 10 wins, last 14 races 6 wins, and a class 2 winner last season, only put up 5lbs for that win last year to 90, suppose had something to with all the horses only rated in the high 80's
in that class 2 last year. top draw trainer William haggis, obviously gets some very good stock to train. |

£8,000 stud fee seems cheap for Farhh.. first winner yesterday Wells Farhh Go.
|
|
By:
Can't be very precocious unless most of them are racing abroad. That was his first win in GB or Ireland.
There is a good Bloodstock article in the RP today comparing Kodiac and Dark Angel. Kodiac stud fee has progressed from Euro 4000 to 50,000 in 8 years! |

After 3 wins today Kodiac is the first sire of 100 wins in GB this year so far. Dark Angel continues in close pursuit on 97 while Exceed and Excel after a quiet spell had 4 wins this week to move to 92. One other sire worthy of note this month is Big Bad Bob. After just 6 wins in the first 6 months of the year, he then had 5 in July and no less than 8 so far in August. I often wonder if there is a reason why some minor sires suddenly produce a rash of winners.
|
|
By:
After the first 2 rounds of racing today, Dark Angel has 2 more winners making 99 for the year and 15 for August. Kodiac now on 101 with a lot of fancied runners today.

Yet another for Big Bad Bob at Newmarket. That is 10 in August!

Dark Angel 104 at last ahead of Kodiac on 103 after Queen Penn won at Hamilton.

At the end of the turf flat season the top three sires (GB flat wins) are:
Kodiac 144 Dark Angel 135 Dubawi 123 Those are all higher totals than in any of their previous seasons and Kodiac has already set a new record for GB wins in a calendar year with 6 weeks of the AW to go. The main drops in total unless they catch fire from now on are Shamardal, Invincible Spirit and Fastnet Rock. |

Kodiac double yesterday takes him 20 clear of Dark Angel with a total of 159 GB wins, 11 so far in December from just 198 flat races-over 5% of all winners this month!
Meanwhile Sir Percy has overtaken Galileo as the highest Derby winning sire in GB wins. 66 for Sir Percy, 63 for Galileo. Prize money would tell a different story of course. |

Very early days of course but Poets Voice leads the 2018 table with 7 GB wins after a steady rise from 24 in his first season, 52 in second and 72 in his third season last year. He could be the next young sire to break into the top 10 this year. He should get plenty of support from Godolphin. £6000 is surely not excessive.
