Is it possible to get a mare sent to Ireland overnight, covered and then back on the transport that day?

Yes, totally possible. Going to be expensive though as you'd have to get a 2 box on your own. There and back you'd be looking at about £2.5k at least I'd say.  Cheaper to share a box out, stay a day or two and come back on a shared box.

You could always see if you could borrow a 2 box and DIY. You don't need any fancy things on your license to be able to drive one.

Your welcome, nice that my brief stint shipping horses has finally come in useful on the forum.
