After a rather quiet month of November, Kodiac is finishing with a flourish. A double today brings the total GB wins to 140, comfortably the highest total by any sire in a calendar year since I started my records in 2000.

End of 2016 table, GB wins, 60 or more in the calendar year. Kodiac total of 140 is the highest since I started to keep the records, but Acclamation only 1 behind. Apologies for the layout copied from Excel. Betfair forum rearranges it.

Interesting that there seems to be big drops in winners for Invincible Spirit and Shamardal-two pretty pricey stallions.
Any reason for this in your opinion sageform? Shamardal is essentially private to the Maktoums and their associates these days of course. |
|
By:
Could be to do with how many of their progeny race abroad? Shamardal must have a lot in France and Dubai. He only had one in Nov and one in Dec. The big advances were by Arcano, Fastnet Rock, Sea The Stars, Monsieur Bond and Champs Elysee.

watchout for the progeny of SEE THE STARS on the AW, very prolific on the AW
HTH |

By:
Without any knowledge of the mares he attracted in the last 2 years, I predict that Champs Elysee will be a sire to watch.

Dark Angel had a very good 2016 and has started 2017 well with 6 GB wins already.

That was 10 for Khelyf. Rare to get double figures in January. It remains to be seen if they keep on winning.
