I would regard that as a good pedigree. I wouldn't think anything is going on, bought by the Doyles for 44k

fair enough but there were nicer looking ones than that yearling that sold for a lot less. I am assuming that the Doyles already have a buyer so you are probably right. |

Does an appearance at a sale qualify it for some sales races? I remember back in the early days of sales races that an Oppenheimer colt trained by Roger Charlton won a big pot (subsequently disappointing for Godolphin). It had been led out unsold at Tatts and it was fairly obvious that it only went to the sale to get qualified. I particularly remember because it won the race on debut against some fairly ordinary winners with inferior pedigrees and I lumped on at double figure odds.
