I know some may say its not the done thing but I'm sure all sorts of stuff goes on the wild so I don't think we have to pay too much attention to the slightly close relationship.

And just think of the racehorse we might get out of it.  So come on Teddy and the Prince, how about getting those two together and giving the racing public what it wants ?

Roadrunner, I'm not sure this is the right game for you. I don't call mating with your mother a "slightly close relationship".

Been tried with other horses centuries back.  Couldn't run a yard.

at the end of the day, 99% of the breed are descended from 3 thoroughbreds, so it's all a bit royal family anyway. Must happen in the wild all the time, you can't tell me that when a lion or something fancies a bit he always waits for the missus to come home ?

Some breeds are renowned for close breeding - Welsh Cobs and ponies, and some sectors of Arabian breeding.  Look at the pedigree of this champion show Arabian and note how many times Precious As Gold appears in the third generation: http://www.allbreedpedigree.com/index.php?query_type=horse&h=VIVEGAS&g=5&cellpadding=0&small_font=1&l=

When it works it's linebreeding, when it doesn't it's inbreeding Wink

Juddmonte have bred half brother/sister together before. Stiletta and Warning were both out of Slightly Dangerous and bred Atelier together. As far as I am aware the horse never ran so the experiement wasnt that successful.
