I know it sounds silly , but is there any way to 'reliably' predict the pace of a race? . Also , why are d some breeders ,who work for stud farms etc , listed in the racing post as the breeders of particular horses rather than the organisations the breeders work for ? .  Any comments greatly appreciated.

Comradecloser, it's a bit difficult to reply to you registered breeder question with out knowing the actual circumstance. However plenty of people who work full time for a stud will have a mare or two of their own. And then of course you go all the way up to Paul Shanahan and one or two others who have very considerable operations of their own whilst holding down a position in another stud.
