Lot 660a Zoffany that made 130000 is an interesting one for a novice breeder like myself. The Dam by Montjeu was sold at the Dec breeding sale 2011 for 3k, she was catalogued as being placed at 3 and out of training but she won a maiden the week before the sale. She reappeared at the following years sale covered by Zoffany and realised 24k.
The foal appeared this week and made  130k.
What I find most interesting is that in this case there wasn't any real pedigree upgrades from 2011 (apart from Ocovanago appearing under 3rd dam and the national hunt horse getting dropped)  also it's more of a staying pedigree than what we consider to be commercial.  Just goes to show in hindsight what can be achieved if you can spot them

Maybe the fact she's by Montjeu, and i would imagine the foal was a good looker (although i didn't see it )he was the highest priced foal in the sale by Zoffany, be interesting to see if he's back next year as a pinhook and if he makes a profit, also could be a bad bit of business by the buyer, time will tell, but for sure the owners have had a good touch, good luck to them
