Like the horse, cant knock the performance level.  Not at all a Stallion's pedigree and conformation wise you've got to be dubious given the pennies he made as a foal / yearling.  Tricky but in a world where a dozen plus Stimulations can mysteriously be good enough for Donny Premier sale then who knows.  10k would be mental (but not unlikely) - thats two compton places.

This is Cheveley Park we are talking about here. never knowingly oversold remember!

They have made a bit of a speciality of the ill bred sprinter with no scope and a dodgy set of front wheels have they not.

No good pricing him really yet until we see how the season unfolds but if he remains impressive it'll be comfortably more than 10k. You have to give 17500 for a sprinting Diktat at Ballylinch.

Which I suppose will be where Dark Angel will be feewise next year. Although I can confess to a bit of smugness on that frontDevil.

best 6f sprinter around at the moment, pedigree is superb from my view point. desert style / green desert on the damside.
generations of speed in the pedigree, dark angel/acclamation/ royal applause/. will be a bargain at 10k for the first crop.

I don't think there's a lot wrong with his pedigree. Initially I was a bit sceptical but (price depending)now think he could be a useful addition to the British stallion ranks. Although he never won as a 2yo he was highly tried and could well get precocious types to the right mare. Also he has a good profile at the moment and they are retiring him at the right time (dubawi gold etc) so he will be fresh in the mind when you boys get your foals and yearlings at the sales.

If a few of you fancy him, why don't you get together a get a deal off them. Now that would make this forum useful.

Will he need to win again now to restore his reputation or has he done enough?

He has done enough imo.

Obviously 2 group 1 sprints and perhaps the two most important ones at that, is enough to gain a berth at stud.

It's the usual conundrum of damage limitation versus image enhancement which as the targets become more scarce is harder and harder.

If you need a workable price you are voting for the former if you want more sexy and are happy with the expense you need the latter.

I much prefer him to their other sprint stallion Mayson - I'm always suspicious of horses who only act on extremes of going.
