Sires in form August

Justineo, another listed winner for the sire, was the 100th winner in GB for Oasis Dream in 2013. Very impressive total and although I had a small bet, I thought the going would be against Justineo today.

Where is Henrythenavigator?  He covered hundreds of mares, where did it all go wrong?

Henrythenavigator just 14 GB wins this year but he is only a second season sire and probably has more in Ireland.

Oasis Dream still stretching his lead but I have just had a look at the first season sires for this year. None have achieved as much as the leading first seasons of other recent years but after Baytown Kestrel won at Lingfield, Captain Gerrard is the leader on 18 GB wins from Bushranger and Dandy Man on 15 each.

as you say Sageform, not a vintage year. In fairness, they have a lot of competition from the established sires and 2yo races are hard to win.

I used CG last year as a bit of a gamble and have a nice filly foal. He has probably done enough for her to find a buyer but we wont be getting rich.

Henrythenavigator has stood in America till now shipping to Chile and Aus while there, Champion Freshman sire in the US last year, sired 32 winners from 82 runners this season from his KY crops so 14 in the UK is probably not to bad , sired the Tattersall Sales winner at the weekend and Group 1 winner Sudirman so far this year in these parts aswell.

One thing Ive noticed about his runners like HTN they need it rock hard

In saying that plenty of hard ground in Oz but he flopped there, funny old game

are the likes of Major Cadeaux, Art Connossieur etc, likely to have any future at all? and what about Intense Focus? he looks like he can get a good one but it's very cutthroat at this level.

JMC27 - HTN had a winner at Chantilly yesterday over a mile one.In the soft.I know what you mean though.Aiden O'brien said HTN's cant even walk on slow ground !I own a HTN - so I'm slightly anal about all this.

One of my favourite horses from the last great crop of three year olds imo.
Remember going up to the Curragh to see him in the Phoenix, just went no where on the ground he absolutely hated it , take nothing away from Saoirse Abu on the day but he was in a different league!
From my untrained eye it seems his a good few of his offspring might be the same but I have no doubt he will sire more top class runners here now.
Many mightnt agree but I also think Coolmore taking some of the regal bred ones back here to AOB instead of Todd Pletcher was a mistake.
Always stuck in my head Jerry Bailey on Breeders Cup night after George Vancouver won the Juvenile Turf saying he couldnt figure out how a horse with his action was not been kept in the US to run in the American Triple Crown route. He was dumbfounded he was going back to Ireland.
Jerry Bailey knows a good dirt horse when he sees it I would say. His big 3 from last year have done nothing and havnt really go the chance either I think anyway. Ship them to the States!

Good luck with yours Dominion Im under no doubt that he is a good sire just question some of the decisions because he is caught in a slight limbo area but Im sure he will get out of that when he settles here.

I missed Mastercraftsman from my first season list. He is on 17 after a win in the first at Newmarket today.
