My mare is by one of the current 50k+ flat stallions out of a mare who placed in gp3 and won a listed (which is now gp2) and has 110ish rated sprinter sibling which hopefully will give me half a chance if she can produce a nice type for the sales ... however there is an national hunt element emerging on the page. How off putting is this to potential buyers? any opinions and advice appreciated

I'm glad you raised this Perry as it seems to me this is an interesting conundrum.
Whereabouts is your thorny issue appearing on your page? I don't like jumps type on my page, well not close up anyway but some people seem to think at any bold type is desirable and stick it in willy nilly. I always lean to the "also won and placed over hurdles' type of commentary over the " also 2nd in the 'God I Wish He Hadn't handicap hurdle G2'" which would attract the small black type and therefore the unwanted attention that would bring. Your 110 sprinter should cancel out a lot mind and well done for that. Has it got some bold type? |

I should really have said dual purpose as both NH horses (siblings of the mare so close up on the page) will have RPRs of 90 & 105 on the flat before being sent hurdling so its difficult to ignore them in the pedigree. Is it legitimate or at least accepted practice to forget about NH exploits on the page or do they have to be reported? For me any exploits over jumps are a negative as it suggests backwardness/slow rather than preciosity/speed, esp when selling as a foal, and dont want it putting people off looking at the foal btw - if you can guess the mare or family, please keep names and guesses off here please '-) |

Sadlers Wells was a very successful NH sire in his own right. Would that have put you off using him on a flat mare?
