Given that Midnight Legend and Alflora are at the veteran stage, who are the best NH sires standing in this country? I guess Kayf Tara leads the pack, but does anyone have views on who the emerging forces are? Fair Mix and Malinas are on my short list. The former has Simonsig to his credit thus far, and his eldest are only seven, but does anyone have views on the sort of stock he's siring yet?

Black Sam Bellamy (who I think is standing as dual purpose rather than purely NH) must be on the shortlist.  Already got The Giant Bolster, full-brother to Galileo and given the record of Sadler's Wells stock over jumps despite them being a by-product rather than intentionally bred for it, I'd be surprised if he didn't get good NH runners.  £4k isn't going to break the bank either.

Sakhee is standing as a NH stallion now, and he already has Grumeti and Squadron to his name.

I like Fair Mix and I like what he's throwing.  A young stallion who is as yet unproven but who has the looks, the pedigree with a mix of class and stamina and the connections (Overbury Stud) to do well is Schiaparelli.  So long as he doesn't throw too many chestnut fillies, that is!

Don't know much about Malinas, sorry.

Thanks Jezebel. I have reservations about Black Sam; other than Giant Bolster, he seems to have produced little of note so far. The other two you flag up are interesting.
