Hi there does anyone know a website that shows which horses seem to be clicking with certain stallions eg which stallion would be good to send a Dr Fong or Nashwan mare to? Cheers
I've been reading Racehore Breeding Theories by Frank Mitchell. One chapter is Nicking by Rommy Faversham (pages 125-172). He does mention these recent combinations (1)Sadler's Wells/Never Bend (2) Northern Dancer/Blushing Groom (3) Mr Prospector/Seattle Slew
Nashwan is by Blushing Groom. I notice that some of the best Blushing Groom/Northern Dancer have Nijinsky: Sky Beauty - Blushing Groom/Nijinsky; Wandesta - Nashwan/Nijinsky; Lammtarra - Nijinsky/Blushing Groom; Bint Shadayid - Nashwan/Shadeed by Nijinsky.
The Blood Horse produces a Nicks annual. The last one I have is 1999/2000 (502 pages, $50). Included are Broodmare sires with 50 lifetime North American runners and five current runners; leading 300 sires in North America, England, Ireland, France, Germany, Italy, and UAE. Sires must stand or have stood in North America.
No mention of Nashwan (by Blushing Groom) or Dr Fong (by Kris S) in that 2000 edition but this might be of interest.
In the Sires section: Sire Kris S ... out of dams by Mr Prospector, 19 foals, 10 runners, AEI (average earnings index) 8.74 (Hollywood Wildcat the big winner). Next best is out of dams by In Reality, 15 foals, 14 runners, AEI 2.16.
In the Broodmare Sires section No mention of Nashwan (perhaps too early for him) Blushing Groom: with sons of Danzig (AEI 1.72); Mr Prospector 1.46; Nijinsky 3.60 (Kahyasi by Ile de Bourbon skews the stats a lot, but Blushing Groom as a damsire with Green Dancer 4 winners from 8 runners and a AEI of 4.51. Sires in UK/IRE (good/not so good) with Green Dancer: Beneficial (aei 0.29); Courtship(?); Craigsteel(0.20); Halling(1.52); Kalanisi(0.93); Robin Des Pres(?); Samraan(?); Septieme Ciel(0.43) ... these sire AEIs are current UK lifetime.) Sires in UK/IRE (good/not so good) with Nijinsky: Alflora(?); Archipenko(?); Bach(0.94); Bahri(1.16); Grape Tree Road(?); Hernando(1.48); Overbury(0.45); Samraan; Welsh Lion.

yes kincsem. i too have that book (btw, have you seen how much it sells for on amazon uk?) most of those chapters are out of date by now, i reckon the only relavent one is about Joe Estes. A blog called Boojams Bonanza is interesting to read, mainly about US horses though. Stay lucky
