Guys,

The above lot is still showing as available on the Tattersalls website (800gns). Granted she's 15 at the turn of the year and is not in foal to Aussie Rules.

As a Caerleon half sister to Beat Hollow who has produced a couple of winners already, can someone tell me how she would not have attracted a suitable bid. I like Caerleon as a broodmare sire and would have thought having a decent Juddmonte page would have saw someone take a punt on her.

Am I missing something ? Thoughts as always appreciated.

Her yearling was no bid at DEC yrlgs.

She will undoubtedly be 16 years old with 1 winner (flat R.53) if you get her in foal when you sell the foal and if you sell the produce as a yearling, 17.

Pretty page S S but sadly that doesn't pay the bills! Even 'the great' Wemyss Bight only managed 2 stakes winners.

As usual reading between the lines is quite informative.

Interesting that her yearling was no bid, sounds like there could be conformation  issues.Still surely if you managed to get her in foal to a cheap first season sire and she produced something decent there could be an upside? But it would be a complete gamble
