Posted this a few weeks back on the horse racing forum but it got lost on there.......

Just looking at the top twenty sires in the world according to prizemoney for 2012.  18 of the 20 are Japanese.
Galileo the best sire in the world is the highest rated Euro in prizemoney and in 18th place on 13.5 million $.
Deep Impact is the number one sire on the prizemoney list on 64 million $.
The highest rated American is Empire Maker in 17th on 13.6 million he now stands in Japan and could turn out to be a massive og by Juddmonte with the season his older horses have had in the USA.
Of the Japanese horse only Deep Impact, Kurofune, Stay Gold and Agnes Tachyon have picked up prizemoney outside of Japan.

i think it is very clear ,that prize money in japan is better ,who is number one with stakes and group winners would tell who is best , but am sure you knew this and where just shown the difference .the prize money must be crazy over there , no wonder they can afford all these mare's  , there's a good chance they'll make there money back
