Another Listed winner goes to stud! Seems like some studs are getting desperate to stand a stallion this year.

He's a bit moderate. I think I would rather take a chance with something like showcasing or hellvelling at this price

The ratings he ran to are surely more significant than the level he won at? He was only beaten the width of a cigarette paper in a Coventry Stakes and wasn't beaten far in a few G1s. I'd prefer his claims to some of the other recent retirees that will be standing at a higher price than him...

if he can get yearlings that look as good as he did I'll be all over him!

Thanks for that picture Gimcrack, or should I call you Joe. . .
![]() It is certainly a shot that goes some way to justify why they are having a go with this fellow. |

Redoutes has two sons, Snitzel and Stratum that are flying in Aus.
Both had a very good turn of speed. If Elzaam is of similar ilk, he has a great chance at stud. |

I guess it's a blessing he's not standing at Shadwell, so he'll do more than 40 mares a season

Gimcrack
sorry to ask a stupid question. Is that a picture of Elzaam, and if so how old was he there? |

Yes truehoncho. I believe it was taken at the arqana yearling sales.
I've noticed quite a few studs have been putting standing shots of their new sires on their websites - Born To Sea, Mayson, Dragon Pulse, Delegator etc. I have to say, from what I've seen so far, that this boy is my pick! I saw him at Newbury when he won the Carnarvon stakes and I was particularly taken with him that day. |
