Why not, they want to be choosy, only the super rich with very good mares will attend,
think i may only take two of my mares instead of three though at that price Wink  i wish

tbf doesn't affect most does it, even 80k out of average breeders range, is that fair comment

Quite right Cunningplan. 80, 125, 200k. Its a number for the very rich. He's almost certain to make it but there are plenty of champions that didn't.

i think for the pure breeding to sell, that figure works as 70% of his book will be juddmonte home breeds and breeders owners so there will roughly be 40 yearlings sold and with limited supply the demand will pay good money.

Also with the new Qatar money in the game there is going to be a new bloodstock bubble over the next 4-6 years.

DMCK thats quite a prediction. If its the case how do you think it will effect the lower end of the market (i.e me)?

yeah there will be a small trickle down effect but the boom will be top end and is independent of the state of economy as its oil money, Tatts this year was the beginning of it all, the bidding for the sister to was and Hydrogen was from 2 differnet fractions of the qatar lads and i understand the boys from Abu Dhabi will be joining the party soon.

People will pay it but it will be years before we know if he is any good as a sire.  Not much upside for the owner of a foal by Frankel.  They can't all be champions.

To be expected,40k more and a better horse than STS and by hot sire of sires Galileo even at that fee he will be commercial.

Obviously it's a long way to fall if it all goes wrong.

If your mare has the class and the reliability about her though, I think he is better value than plenty lower down.

The old American addage is that you cannot breed to a 'freak'..... added to that is the fact 19/20 sires are abject failures. If you have a top mare then go to the source (Galileo) even at twice the price .... you could then end up with a sire prospect of your own.....

Ming is Frankel a freak? His breeding is excellent and it should be expected that the best should come from that type of breeding.

I would put him in the freak category. It comes from the statements out of a book I read on the great breeders in the states in the 70/80's. You cannot hope to reproduce a freak like that, they tried with Secretariat and others - if you think Frankl was impressive think about Secretariat who won the Belmont Stakes by 31 lengths.....

good price to my way of thinking, what dam would enhance the bloodline,
maybe something with more staying power over a longer trip, you never
know could have a derby winner. start saving soon.
