Crystal Ball required in this game I'm afraid nannyflow.
Obviously his starting fee gives a clue as to expectations perhaps. Only one in ten really makes it and perhaps of his crop, Sea The Stars starts with a bit of an advantage and Virtual with some disadvantages. You pays your money. . . Good luck if you have an interest - because that's surely the most important factor! |

We had one - nice lad, solid as an ox but will need time. Glad I sold it as the market doesnt want them and the studs give up already it appeards.

Pm, I do have an interest and as a result have looked at as many of his as possable, I think he might suprise some,
I think the amount of speed in his breeding is being missed at his price level. Yer ma, the studs might be correct but the one i have is a nice sort as well thats why i asked, funny game this, both admit to being happy with what we have/had but the market tells us we shouldn't be. Really looking forward to his runners because of the way he has been dismissed but people like the look of his stock. |

Good luck with your one Nanny.
However, Virtual is yet another example of a horse who should not have gone to stud and the market has voted with its feet. Zero yearling fillies sold and three colts to date from 19 catalogued. Only found his way to stud by picking up a cheap Group 1. Was never fashionable entering stud and even less so now. Has it all to do now (and rightly so), should not be allowed to cover any mares henceforth. But am happy to be proved wrong. |

Thats pretty harsh stuff JM. Could name you a dozen flat stallions as ropey or worse. Cheap Grp1s (even cheap Classics) occur every year and he had 5 stallions behind him that day. I was rather ambushed into sending him one to my regret - on commercial footing certainly. I'd say he wont have nearly enough ammunition to be allowed to keep going but will get hardy winners much like Iceman.
Best of luck Nanny (esp if you bought mine) |

JM love your view, no sitting on the fence, that's what I love about racing and find other peoples views interesting without feeling the need to always agree
. Sixties Icon having a profile not a million miles apart. He has some nice stock and I think he could be value, only his runners can save him now and I think they just might. 12 months time JM might be looking at him again ![]() ![]() . |

Personally I'd be in full agreement with Johnny Mustang's opinion of 'star sire' Virtual. His profile IS a million miles apart from Sixties Icon, one is by ultra hot sire Galileo who's stallion sons are doing very well and Sixties Icon is a great looking sire, one is a gigantic boat and by Pivotal who is yet to prove himself as a sire of sires.... despite being at stud for many years. One was classically bred, though arguably won the wrong one the other stepped out of handicap company then scrapped home in a poor GR1.
He has some nice stock and I think he could be value, only his runners can save him now and I think they just might.![]() What ever gives you that impression? ![]() |

Off the mark today. (Not mine)
Still very happy with mine, just wants to please but has an edge, working really well, find out in the next couple of months. |

Good for you Nanny - I sold mine as a foal and with all the doom'n'gloom I'd written him off at two to help my mare but you never know. That winner is from a very modest mare. Tops the table on winners to runners ;)

Thanks yer ma, I think the one in Ireland that's run looks promising as well, it's last run looks like it could work out well, out of an unraced Docksider mare who has done very little.
