Burning the ground, both colts  and fillies , and a right mix of types.

Have to really happy with that especially as he really only showed how good he was over further.

Henry also hitting the ground hard. Looks to be some really good 3yr olds retired that year.

Precocious and scopey - well the first two definitely - a very difficult combination to pull off, certainly his sire doesn't manage it!

I bet they wish he was a bit better in the covering shed. Still that might not satisfy greed but it will do the stallion good long term to keep it quality.

Very promising indeed but I'm on record as saying I had my reservations so looks like I was wrong - it's only been the once mind Crazy

So any ideas how much Dawn approach would be valued at?I am not saying how much godolphin paid cos it looks like Bolger has held a stake and options, maybe 10-12 million???
Report neill d June 27, 2012 6:22 PM BST
Not that much surely?
Report dj876 June 27, 2012 7:34 PM BST
Ah I am probably way off Neil.
I know he is only a 2yo and has a lot more to achieve even to emulate Teofilio who stands for €25,000 which could be argued has as earning potential of €3m pa.
It is hard to judge what horses in training would make as potential stallions and also normally contain complex options and shares.

Neil d  .Any idea what coolmore paid for excelebration and canford cliffs??They deinitely over paid for cc.

no idea dj, just sounded a bit steep to me though I really am no expert, one of the lads here would give you a better estimate, I hope they do because it is an interesting topic you've raised. thinking of the money paid for SYT, you could be right.

My spies tell me that at Ascot last week, senior Darley noms people were frantically phoning Dalham Hall and instructing team there not to accept any bookings to New Approach for 2013 under any circumstances, no matter who the caller was.

Massive fee hike on its way.
Report Prima Donna June 28, 2012 8:18 PM BST
I'm not surprised to hear that news Johnny. With regard to the price of Dawn Approach's purchase by Godolphin 10/12 million does seem outrageous,I have no idea how much they have settled on but I'd be thinking along the lines of 5/6 million now.But with the outfit who have just acquired him the sky's the limit if they want him.I'm sure J.B is crying all the way to the bank!I certainly wouldGrin

What a complete disaster, granted Darley will be able to stand another of Bolgers Galileo's but such is the complete farce that is Godolphin racing I am sure he wont win anything next year.

Bolger prob could turn him into a champion 2 yr old and then no matter how bad he is next year he be off to stud after.

I say its more around the 8-10 Million, lets face it he has made him a stallion already as a Coventry winner.

He made what 2.3 Million on Banimpre last year. Man is incredible
