Ruptured his heart when travelling to his new home in Eire. Thus ends the sad and rather unfortunate story of Plantation.

What sad news for his connections, and for poor Araafa himself. After spending most of his life at Plantation Stud it seems to be the case the disruption of moving caused Araafa to get worked up to such a state he had a heart attack. My thoughts are with his Plantation Stud stallion man what shocking news for him to take in,and poor Araafa only nine years old.

It appears it happened when he was covering a mare. Must be the shock of his first one in a few years! Not a nice ending for those around but I always think I would trade a few years for the chance to go quickly and out of the blue.

Great shame for the horse.  Hope it was pre-coitus for the mare mind, lucky escape if so.
