R Charlton thinks he will make a great sire. Any thoughts?

At his age would need to be cheap and for me I'd want to see some higher class wins.

Well we're not struggling for pedigree are we. I like a horse that gets to the races and he certainly does that. He's reputed to be biggish and good looking too.

I can't ever see a big fee being appropriate and I like that too!

He needs some high profile wins for sure to make him a bit safer as no 2yo form is a blindingly obvious problem.

I'm happy to keep him in mind.

Runner-up in 3 G1s to date. I think we'd be having a much different view on him if he had won at least one of those and I do think there's a G1 win in him somewhere this season. But for the moment he hasn't, and that puts him in the company of a horse like Delegator and with somewhere like the National Stud looming as a likely destination for his second career, possibly in the region of 6K.

Should he win a G1 though I could well see him retiring to his owner's place. Why shouldn't he? A fast, G1-winning sprinter by Dansili (who's 16 now and hasn't, for me, sired an obvious heir to his throne (Harbinger, Rail Link, Zoffany, Delegator, Strategic Prince, Famous Name? No thanks)) suddenly becomes quite attractive. Throw in the fact that he's from a decent Juddmonte family, out of a Distant View mare and is a half-brother to G1 winning Cityscape and I could easily see him standing for 15K.

yeap i like him alot as well-dont know what price he could stand at, but has to be a good bet anywhere in europe especially in current climate.if he wins gr 1 i agree the owner will stand him.

I like him but he would make Banstead Manor a bit Dansiliocentric.

If he won a G1 I still can't see his fee at £15k. He never raced at 2 and didn't win a group race at 3 or 4. I don't think that form would encourage commercial breeders to use him at such a fee, there are too many options. I think with a G1 win he should be 10k. Now if he won 2 or 3 G1s thats different.

I could see a scenario where Whitsbury (maybe move on Avonbridge?) take him at about 6-7k.  Cant see Juddmonte standing him esp not with Frankel starting next year. Nothing wrong with his form or looks and he might get closest to Black Caviar which wont do any harm.

I'll defer to your superior knowledge re his fee then! On a separate (but related, literally) point, where do you think Cityscape will end up?

Can't see much interest in Cityscape over here or in England TBH.Could see him standing later on mind in Italy.

I'd agree completely with yer ma with his view of Bated Breath over his destination if and when he retires to stud, but I'd like a couple of higher class wins under his belt first.

I can see Juddmonte standign Cityscape.

Another Observatory, Three Valleys. Well breed decent family provides something different for filies. Does nto have to be commercial to be useful for the stud breeding operation.

Definitely retires to Banstead Manor for 2013.

it seems reading this thread that his stock has risen over the past few months. I have seen him once or twice and he does have a presence and with not much competition over here at the right price he will get plenty of mares.
