Any one got any views on the above breeze up sales, any prefered sires, which first season sires will be in demand ? Any lots catch anyones attention, looking to buy a colt. Thanks in advace for any views.
I wasn't overly impressed last year, thought the prices were very high. maybe helped by lashings of champagne during the break from breezes to sales ring.
Everything we took home soon developed sore shins as well, so im happier now on to buy yearlings than go to the breeze ups.
However, very small sample size for my experience to count against others.
What a killjoy i am sadly

Mocklershill have about 12 going to Kempton. Their website is very good, it shows each horse walking, galloping and conformation. Have a look and see what you think www.mocklershill.ie I like one or two,any opinions?

the Tapit looks the standout lot of the catalogue (under 100 lots and mixed but bigger than last year). 2yo market so far in USA has been strong, whether the same will apply over here we'll see. As with all markets it has its risks, but in the right company a potential buyer can be guided accordingly to budget / needs. Both Bansha and Mockerlshill are leading 2yo consignors, along with Hawthorn Villa, Grove, Tally Ho, Bloodstock Connection, oak tree (stormin Norman)to name just a few. Seven Springs prominent at Nmkt too.

Despite a few noteables on here determined that the stallion is on the decline (a Grp1 winner, Grp1 2nd and a Listed winner in 24hrs wont change their minds I presume)...there is bizarrely only one Kyllachy in this sale and its a filly full sister to a 2yo winner and group runner (overfaced). Could be relatively cheap but its all about the breeze.

I've been thinking of you, yer ma with Kyllachy's good recent run! I hope you are currently invested in him one way or another. I think that the main doubter is perhaps having to re-appraise! I have always been a little indifferent not necessarily anti but I always think his fee has been 2k too much. His consistency is laudible though and those horses that do it year in year out are always a good sporting bet to get the a good one too. It will be interesting to see how consistent he is going forward with regard to the classy runner ratio.
