Solid sales so far well above the average of last year but Darley skewing the market a with New Approach especially going for big fee's which baffles me.
700k highest priced lot and that looks fair enough for me. Long way to go yet but Coolmore very selective in their buying | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

The Galileo (Ire) ex Brigid (Irish River {Fr}) filly went for 1.7-million guineas to Charles Gordon-Watson Bloodstock. Gordon-Watson bought the filly on behalf of Nurlan Bizakov's Hesmond's Stud ,the owner of smart stayer Askar Tau. Offered by Oaks Farm Stables, the chestnut is out of Brigid (Irish River {Fr}), making her a 3/4-sister to a pair of Group 1-winning fillies by Sadler's Wells, Sequoyah (Ire)--the dam of 4 x G1 Henrythenavigator (Kingmambo)--and Listen (Ire). "When you are starting a new stud and want foundation blood you go for the best," Gordon-Watson told Racing Post. "I know the family well and I think Galileo is the best stallion in my lifetime, because of what he has achieved with 2-year-olds as well as older horses." The purchase price is the highest at Tattersalls October since hip 502's 3/4-sister Liffey Dancer (Ire) (Sadler's Wells) sold for 2.5-million guineas in 2007.
