Am sure someone will find a home for him. Can just see the marketing now - 'The first son of Iffraaj at stud'. Speaking of which, what is it with Darley and their first-season sires? Bertolini - Champion first year, dreadful following year; Kheleyf - Champion first year, dreadful following year, Iffraaj - Champion first year, dreadful following year.

i havent seen WB in the flesh, but on paper he should get a few mares in his first year if cheap enough.

Agree. To be fair, there's a lot of speed in the family. I find him difficult to price up - without his G1 win I'd estimate him at around 2K-2.5K, but as he did win at the highest level as a juvenile, they might be able to ask 4K for him?

he needs to be a good specimen to get much more than 3k as his familiy, although precocious and speedy wont be a big positive for him. Interestingly his third dam was a twin.

Only a cheap sire and reckon he will end up in France,standing for about 4k euros.Would be of no interest to me I'm afraid.

I'd guess D I C K Turpin when he retires will stand in Italy after his victory yesterday.

i think if they stood DT in the uk for his first season they could turn a profit. he may not have much competition next year.

both dick and wb would suit france alot-they could stand for 4 k there first season and with the owners and breeders prizes they would have a chance.

Is the start, and subsequent cooling off, of Ifraaj so very different to Acclamation?
Is Wootton Bassett so very different to Dark Angel? Answer, No. However 'very' different is a subjective matter and I think that it's perhaps a degree too different for me. I can see the horse ending up at a reasonably well regarded smaller commercial hotel though. Looks, ofcourse, permitting. |
