They had such similar profiles with their impressive 1st crops,  subsequent over zealous price hikes,  going right off the boil, but just about  keeping things ticking over.

Now at no stage do I think they are in the same league but if history repeats itself then Kheleyf has a useful future.

What am I missing here?

Fast, the right year (best book) and above all cheap attracted me but unless he throws a star or two...cf. Dark Angel or that other one...jeez I've forgot its name already, he'll not take off.  Interesting to see ferguson buying one though, on the shopping list this year.

Acclamations progress is relentless. hehe. In fairness big chance of first classic win next year, less than 70 up for grabs and the doyles want most of them.

I liked the Camachos and they sold well - positive for Showcasing.

acclamation has done no wrong this year as can be seen by the first two sales of the year.will his price hold for next year or go up? what was his service fee 2011 ?

Acclamation this year is relentless yer ma. However those 1st two group winners were his only pattern winners until this year. At the same stage Kheleyf is one stakes winner ahead before those better mares runners hit the track in 2012. Acclamation appears to be massively in need of better mares, so if Kheleyf has the same requirements. . .

How do we know which stallion will capitalise and which just do their own thing regardless?

Acclamation in 2011 was 15k sammy. And yes a price hike is inevitible!

I think that Kheleyf is having a good season for his 3rd season 2year olds. Colts like Vladimir, Eureka and Stonefield Flyer are geniune stakes horses and may well bag a group race this season. The problem for Kheleyf is that he gets very few that train on and therefore gets forgotten very quickly and hence a 3k stud fee.

His next crop need to train on and may do with better mares but I think he may do the same again because the mares he got this season at 3k wont do much for him. After saying that, if they keep his fee down at this level next year he must be worth a punt with the right mare for the Donny sales.
