Mmm.
Me thinks J.S.B has slipped on a pair of Rose tinteds! As we often say, it's sometimes hard to be objective about your own. But that's a heck of a lot of eggs . . . |

Well the fee prob was going to be too dear anyhow lets face it considering the success he has had.
It not Jim style to go with a big fee sire, rather a up and coming promising sire. Plus he would have got it well cheap considering the tough deal he worked out when he sold it to stand for Darley. |

Good article on http://www.itba.ie/ on Jim Bolger,
He goes on to say he has the following Teofilios; 22 2yld in training 16 yearlings circa 20 foals 31 mares covered. 70 mares providing between 50 and 60 2 ylds for training each year. read the racing post interview too. The being priced out of Galileo seems odd for a man of such considerable wealth but more likely he is suggesting his 2 sons of Galileo at stud are better value for ones money. Although it it is a view to talk on board from the man who moved Galileo's fee to private status through his 2 Champion 2year olds.

It is ironic that JSB 'made' Galileo the next big thing when there was hardly a single progeny of him in training in Ballydoyle in the early days ( unlike now ). But once Coolmore realised that he was the business , competitors like JSB were limited in using him and this is a real factor in the absence of Galileos at Coolcullen and more so than the increased cost of his nomination fee.

Anyone have any idea how much faith has he put in New Approach compared to Teofilo?
