Are the judges on here expecting him to fall in a hole mid-season? Great start and all, but surely can't keep up this pace? A Royal Ascot winner would keep everyone happy. Tough As Nails or that one that won at Chester today? Would using him right now be considered the biggest gamble of all time?!

Biggest gamble? Streuth no!

Amadeus Wolf firing at 1 winner from 10 runners or Three Valleys 0 from 7 are surely scarier. Not to mention taking a gamble on 3rd season horses with limited credentials.

True, early season winners do not a high class stallion make, and Dark Angel has sold a little better than just another scrubby 2yo sire so he potentially has a hit to take if he disappoints.

But as starts go, I can't see anyone being too disappointed right now!

I wonder too if Dark Angel can keep it up......firing in the winners I'm talking about, still very early in the season.Amadeus Wolf needs more winners and now otherwise he's going to slip backwards,as for Three Valleys are we all so surprised? He is the son of a great sire......but a poor sire of sires, mind you we could say the same about the Coolmore sire Excellent Art who has 2 winners from 3 runners if I'm right that's not bad.Moss Vale who wants them this year?Looking seriously like a disaster ATM!

Something about Dark Angel that i don't like not sure what it is it could be that he didn't run at three although we've used two high profile stallions recently who didn't either, maybe the reason is that he was with Barry Hills.I do like his breeding having used Acclamation he is by a good sire but you need a high profile winner as well as all the other winners and i'd say it could come cause they look like good sorts.

Excellent Art hopefully has a future ahead of him he oozes class which he passes on to his stock and there racey too

PD i sent an old mare to Moss Vale last year cause she was hard to get in foal the result was she didnt go infoal last year either but i did sell her so i think i could have been lucky

I think Rip Van you can rightly think you were lucky to sell her,we have used Moss Vale but he is not doing it at all,I do agree about the stock by Excellent Art they have loads of class and quality lets hope the class comes through,I only hope unlike the 'mighty' Pivotal his can go on anything other than a swamp at 4 years plus!Devil

another very good first time winner for dark angel today.was ist and second.nice models and look like they will go on.i would say a fantastic start now and they will sell well this autumn as the trainers will want them i think.as with all first season sires a group horse will make all the difference.

I agree about Excellent Art, lets hope he can sire things like Kyllachy, Sariska, Halfway To Heaven, Siyouni, Saoire, Falco, Buzzword, Sylvester Lady and ofcourse himself. They were all Group 1 winners  at 2 or 3 but I forget who they were by. . .
Then again, seems like I'm not the only one. Devil

That's 9 such horses by my reckoning, and just for my own benefit you understand, I had a little count up of a horse who went to stud at the same time, Danehill Dancer, who has had 7 such horses.

But no-one wants the facts to get in the way of perceptions in this game [;)].

Pot M ,Danhill Dancer has had 15 GR1 winners.............just so as you know, and don't forget he has been CH sire!
Report potentialmillionaire May 5, 2011 10:30 PM BST
And so he should have done having 38,000 foals in each hemisphere !!

(But I'd use him if I could afford to [;)])

I wonder if his results are due to take a slip about now or can he buck the age related downturn?

I'd guess that Pivotal has perhaps succumbed.
Report Prima Donna May 5, 2011 10:37 PM BST
Yes Pivotal's glory days are I feel almost over his slipping price reflects this, and DD too to an extent, now his connections will support newer sons of Danehill and concentrate on building a Galileo dynasty.
Report potentialmillionaire May 5, 2011 10:48 PM BST
But right now Juddmonte have the ace card in perpetuating a 'joint' dynasty from those two!

dark angel has a had a busy week for winners, after a slow start to the year with just the 8 winners from
the first two months, george bowen winning yesterday, well tipped up too, must of been 9lb pull at the
weights that attracted the attention of the racing post tipstersLaugh kodiac's progeny havent been doing so well lately after a blistering start to the year, central city kodiacs most prolific winner this year,
got the last winner of a very poor couple of months of results for kodiac.
Report sageform April 2, 2019 12:06 PM BST
Dark Angel (20) now second for the year after 12 in March to Kodiac (24) who had a relatively quiet March. Cape Cross and Kyllachy are next.
