Is So You Think overpriced?

As I understand it , Coolmore bought a half share for 30 million Aus dollars which would equate to 22.5 million euro approx . A helluva racehorse by any standard he is liable to take Europe by storm next year but even at that , what fee could he command given his pedigree ?
High Chaparral has been upped to 25k in Europe next year presumably on SYT's performances because he has sired precious little in Europe to date to justify that sort of fee while I am unfamiliar with SYT's damline but I suspect it is nothing to write home about. Which makes him look expensive as a breeding prospect no matter how good a racing prospect he looks . Maybe , the economics of covering in both hemispheres makes his price look more realistic or maybe High Chaparral is the next Danehill ( i.e looked average enough initially in Europe before his phenom status down under eventually transferred to his Northern Hemisphere coverings). But I have to say I was surprised when I heard of SYT's purchase price and in my view it was an offer his owners could not refuse even if it did break poor auld Bart's heart...

Its amazing the way racing is so different down there, I'd back any good Epsom Derby winner to give weight and a beating to something like Americain, especially one with Sadlers Wells in it
